No fix for Poser 8, which was why I had to remove IE 11 and run the MS fix to stop it updating again. Have now disabled IE altogehter on my system, but ran the MS fix first.

Oh you clever woman. Ok, so how does one get the MS fix. I assume MS stands for MIcroSoft.

This is what I did back in November, after reverting back to IE10, to get my Poser 9 library showing up again  -->

AHA! Now tabbycat has a choice of which way to go. I never saw this, but found the link I just posted above (after I reverted back to the previous restore point, the day before). That's how I got my P9 library working again.

Great website for turning off Internet Explorer. Works great for turning IE off but did nothing to help with Poser 9.
Maybe I need to just reinstall Poser 9.

This link comes back page not found. Can you check it and see if there is a typo ?

Ok. My Poser 9 is now working properly. It now sees new items in the library. Again thanks for the links I do have IE10 turned off.

Ok, so if this happens to you.

Turn off IE. Installed the latest flash player and java then reinstall Poser 9 This is what worked for me, maybe it will work for you too.

Just so you know, the HiveWire Horse does not work in Poser 7 or 8. It loads ok but if you try to pose it, the model falls apart.

Good luck to everyone and all their Poser woes.

Is there a fix for Poser 8 as well?

I have IE 11 and tried to install my copy of Poser 8. There was the same problem of not seeing the library; so I had to revert back to my old copy of Poser 6.

Does your Poser work as it used to ? Just wondering if I should go back to Poser 7.

Yes, although my Poser 8 doesn't work with IE11, my Poser 6 works OK with IE11 installed. I'm not sure about Poser 7, as I only have Poser 6 and Poser 8.

No, none of the Dawn based products are usable in a Poser version lower than Poser 9, and since Harry the Horse was morphed from the original Dawn mesh for Poser, it isn't either.

When Dawn first came out, prior to my obtaining Poser 9, I tried loading the DS version of Dawn into DS 4.0, and just as you discovered while trying to load the Horse into P7 or P8, it loads, but DS 4.0 didn't recognize any of the basic morphs since they were in DUF format, and when I saved the file and reopened it, Dawn literally blew up. Funny to see, but discouraging if you don't have DS. 4.5 or higher. That's one of the reasons why I grabbed Poser 9 when SM put it on sale, even though I hadn't used Poser since version 5, years ago.

You've got an extra "o" at the end of that link. It should just be id=40722

Ok thanks. I reinstalled my Poser 9 and it works now. But the Hivewire Horse does not work in it. I can load it but when
I tried to pose it the model falls apart. Kind of cool and kind of weird too. So now I am off to Hivewire to bug them.

Thanks everyone for all of your generous help.

  • I found that if you update Flash and allow the plugin in Explorer as a default then the issue with blank windows goes away

This will make the Poser 9 library work again in Windows 10: [Possibly unsafe link for CleanFlash removed]
