Genesis/M5 Responding to DAZ marketed pre-set poses

Hi:
I have a specific M5 character that does not respond completely to most of the preset M5 and Genesis Male poses that I have purchased from DAZ 3d. The issue is the arms; while the rest of the body will reset to whatever pose I select, the arms will not change to the new configuration and remain the way they were previously. The M5 character is modified by the texture and head and body morphs of M5 Buddy by Mec4D; would this have an impact on the posing capability? Please let me know. Thanks.

No chance at all, those are set by completely different controls. Are you sure the pose presets are for M5/Genesis?
One possibility is that the arm joints are locked, have you done this at all? (I'm in the habit of locking finger joints of hands that are holding objects, so that applying a pose preset doesn't mess up the "holding" pose.)
It might also be a pose set that has separate upper body/lower body settings. Which pose sets are you having problems with?
Hi:
M5 Capces pose, M5 Intriguing Pose, M5 Dark Priest Pose, the standard Genesis Male poses, the various $1.99 Genesis theme pose specials, etc.
Weird. I have the Dark Priest and Intriguing poses, they all work OK. Have you tried re-installing the pose sets and the M5 Buddy character? It definitely falls under This Shouldn't Happen™, but there is a remote chance the files might have been corrupted when they were originally installed. If that doesn't work, all I can suggest is opening a support ticket (Help>Contact Us at the top of any DAZ page, and select the Technical Support department). Specify the pose set names in your report, don't just say "various pose specials". The more details you mention, the better.
Is there definitely no problem after applying any other M5 character to Genesis? Is this one specific saved figure, or does it happen to any Genesis after you apply M5 Buddy? Which version of D|S are you using? Have you updated/re-installed Genesis Starter Essentials whenever you updated the D|S program itself?
Now that I think about it, that last is a bit more likely to be your problem; sometimes people forget or don't realise that the Starter Essentials are regularly updated, and when the changes are major, the old content can end up almost-but-not-quite compatible with the new program.
It sounds to me as if you have maybe saved a custom dialed set of morphs into the Genesis 2 Male M5 figure and saved it over your M5 figure. That would cause this issue. The first thing to try is to Un-Install the M5 with the DIM and then install it fresh. If that still does not work you Un-Install M5 again, then check in the Data folder in the content folder for any morphs in the M5 BASE morphs folder that do not un-install. Those would be the ones auto loading.
I hope a un-install and reinstall is all you need. If not a third party morph installed can be the cause. We can find that after you have tried a fresh install of M5. Just the figure install is all that's needed none of the other content, just M5 Base figure.
Is the character wearing anything or have anything parented when this happens?
