Can some suggest me some sites from where i can download free male and female face genesis? Only face is required, whole body is not required
Comments
Genesis comes with the free Daz studio but is only free to use for renders (images and videos) not the mesh for other purposes
though you can modify it on you own computer it cannot leave your computer in any form other than a 2D render
you need a game developers license to use it in games no other use permitted
if you want a redistributable mesh head try Makehuman
if you say what you want to do people might have more info for you
if you want a face for art images for example that is ok
I am creating customized avatar for Vizard Virtual Reality (WorldViz Inc). For that i used FaceGen Modeler (Trial Version) to create face from images (frontal and side). As it is trial it doesnt export but saves as (.fg) file. Then I used Facegen File exporter with Daz Studios. So what i can do is i can change the shape and texture of the genesis (head only) by structure i created using (FaceGen Modeler + FaceGen Exporter). When exporting from Daz Studio the whole body of the genesis is saved as (.obj) file. But to use it in Vizard i only need the head not the whole body. Is it possible? Or is there any other method that can help me complete the task?
P.S
All the software used are Trial/Demo
Moved to the Commons because it is a request for, not and offer of, a freebie.
Read the upload terms and conditions at Vizard Virtual Reality (WorldViz Inc). If the uploaded files are distributable/property by the company, such as at second-life, then you may not upload DAZ files there.
There is no problem in that. Does anyone know any free software to create 3D morphs model of head from image?
Also be aware that the face gen plugin for Genesis and DS leaves a watermark.
There are a number of open source figures out there that will work in DS. Project Human figures by Sixus1 Media is one of them.
If you are just looking for an avatar, you also might want to check out Make Human.
Water Mark wont be much of an issue. The most important thing is it should only be head not whole body. Does MakeHuman has option for head or it exports whole body?
You would have to take a look at it. I suggested it because it was open source. You do realize that even if you do take the Genesis mesh into FaceGen and alter it, it still is the property of DAZ and you cannot upload or otherwise redistribute the mesh?
I strongly suggest you read the EULA for DAZ products as well as for SI's FaceGen.
You do realize that the avatars that the company offers are for use in Max and are in Max format?
You need an avatar, why not pick one up from the company. It's not like they don't sell them.
What you said is absolutely correct. Thank you for that. I need avatar of Indian race and the company doesnt have one. Any idea how to do?
The only way you would be able to use Face Gen is to invest in the re-distribution license. If you use the free modeller, you can distribute the .fg file but not the actual mesh file.
How much actual modelling experience to you have?
It's been a long time since I tried the trial for Max but you could download the trial and see if you can export from the trial version.
If you can, you could pick up a generic avatar from them and make the necessary changes in Max. The textures are in .psd format so you would also need an image editor that supports and saves in .psd format.
The only other option I know of is the Pro version of Poser. The Pro version of Poser has some low poly open source human models that have face room support.
The face room in Poser is a scaled back version of FaceGen.
They only come with the Pro version and you need to read the EULA regarding their use.
That big "SI" on the forehead isn't going to be a problem? Excuse me but I think you really need to read that company's terms of usage. Buy the plugin IF using it!
After you have the basic desired head shape, applying an appropriate texture would help a lot for achieving the desired end look. The textures created by FaceGen are not normally the best to use for texturing.
I would also recommend using the MakeHuman figure as you can use that as you please. Either using D/S and/or a program such as Blender or Hexagon, morph the head as desired. To get a head only .obj, after exporting out the .obj from D/S, in a program like Blender or Hexagon, select all the rest of the body and "delete it". Export out the head.obj file.

Found it!
These will give you a good starting place for just about any Genesis morph you might want to make.

These won't do the OP any good. In order for the VR app to use the avatar, it requires that the mesh be uploaded. It would still be redistribution.
Don't forget RAMworks morphs also on sharecg and think there is a thread here somewhere.
