Computing Power Studio4.x to Carrara 8.5 Pro

I have been out of the rendering 'scene' for sometime (a year...or three) and am looking to invest in g a new PC to get back in the game.
I was reviewing the system requirements in the help section and correct me if I am wrong but it looks as though DAZ Studio 4.6 requires a little more umpf than Carrara 8.5 Pro in way of RAM (2GB min for Studio and 1GB min for Carrara) but I do not see any info for processor information under Carrara 64bit.
Any recommendations or is it safe to assume that if I put together a machine for Studio that it will be more than ample for Carrara as well?
Just for the record I used both Studio and Cararra in the past and am familiar with both.

I cant speak for Carrara, because I only use DAZ Studio. But the "rules" should be the same for both programs.
RAM: The more, the better. Especially on a 64bit system 4GB should be the absolute minimum. I recommend 8 or even 16 GB RAM
CPU: The more cores, the better. Do not use anything smaller than a quad-core CPU.
If you can afford it, I would use:
- Intel I7 Quad Core CPU
- 16 GB RAM
- SSD Harddrive as system drive, maybe a second one for storage and backups
- GPU is not that important (at least in DAZ Studio), so it does not have to be a monster card
This should give you enough power for 3D rendering.
Thanks for the tips 'XoechZ'
If i am looking at an Intel i7 Quad Core, would a single NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 (3GB) Video Card be adequate or would I need a Dual Card set up?
Also, am planning to go with Microsoft Windows 7 Pro...is this overkill or would Ultimate be the way to go?
Single card fine and Pro more than enough. I run a Single card, DAZ does not use the Card to render just the CPU, and unless your going international I see no need for more than Pro in Win7.
Thanks Jade, very helpful.
