Stezza - welcome to the party.  This challenge is no picnic, so ants are not a problem.  Very clever.  Excellent renders.

Bunyip - aha, not only do we need a dozen or so castles, we need plenty of NVIATWAS - vicky in temples!  I recognize that temple from the object browzer.  Need to revisit some of those buildings.

just popping in... have visitors this week staying and then next week getting some renos done to the house... helping the economy and all that.. so won't be around much for a while..

I'll try and get some more done in between ~ great renders everyone keep the castles coming yes

Ancient City - It makes a big difference to view at full scale.

City put together primarily with replicators.  Details in my "No one asked me" thread if anyone is interested.

Zoom is with V4, Slosh's harem outfit, the Poser 7 male Simon, and the Content Paradise Saladin outfit.  Bunch of shadow catching cubes.

I may change out the zoom image.  I think I might prefer an indoor scene.  Or, maybe I will leave this and then match my indoor idea with another establish shot.  Not sure.

Love it!  I think my favorite is the dancing pet robot.  Is it a dog or a cat?

    Future Casino -

They like the nightlife, they like to boogie...

The establishment shot is very simple.

    - One Carrara terrain, duplicated and rotated to give the mountains on left and right

    - One Carrara terrain replicated seamlessly to give the lake surface

    - Realistic sky, moonlight, set to night, with two volumetric clouds to give the sky.

    - The outpost is made up of primitives (not vertex objects) with bulge modifiers applied to give funky shapes.  Used shader mixers and glow channels to make windows.

    Great theme Mystiarra!
Very generous of you to host another challenge. And thank you Diomede for sponsoring a prize.

Some great posts here so far, I have to catch up.

Bunyip - Lots of nice images so far. I especially like the far shots of Old Town and Sirius 5 Colony City. I also like the camera angle of the close up of Tree House.

Diomede - Really like that soft back lighting of the castle, reminds me of the lighting of your Cyclops in the last challenge. And that replicated city is friggin' awesome!

Vyusur - Great sense of mystery and I like the warm / cool monochromatic palette.

Stezza - Great landscape and cutaway view. And I thought we got ant problems in the summer...

Wendy - Nice establishing shot of your outpost at the start, and love the interior. Lens flare mania!! Plus, I'll have whatever the dancing robot is drinking.  smiley

Just a start, yes I know most of those dwellings look like they're floating, lol. I think I need to model the foreground landscape. I'm going off a very abstract sketch, so, much is still open to interpretation...
First image is straight up render.
Second image has the background terrain and 'Big Potato Ship Thing' rendered seperately and brought back into Carrara on a card / flat plane. Not sure if that counts as post work, won't do it violates the rules. I did that because I was using a colored Distance Fog and it was blocking backdrop Bi Gradient sky.
Clouds are doodles made in the Spline Modeler, but not extruded - they are just flat planes with a color gradient shader with some Glow and Aura effects.
I think I want the foreground elements much darker and more in shadow / silhouette.

Thank you, Bunyip and Desertdude for the kind comments on my future casino.

Desertdude - that scene is already spudalicious.  That is a good thing.  Can't wait to see where you take it.

Thinking about you, Misty.  Hope your eye stuff is going well.

Here is a some quick fun with TangoAlpha's Hemlock Folly.  I rendered out two of his camera presets (under bridges and lantern room), and then loaded the results back in the scene tab's backdrop channel to add a little.  For the outdoor scene, I inserted a terrain to cover some glowing grass blades in the lower left that I didn't like.  I covered the terrain with some replicators of my plants.  For the indoor scene, I replaicted some of AM's bats with different poses in the 'ball' replicator preset.
