Psy District - rain question

Hello!

I have a question about this product: http://www.daz3d.com/urban-future-4-psy-district

How is the rain done there? Is it geometry? Or is it planes with transmaps? Or something else?
Same question about the "breathtaking fog effects".

I just want to know if it is easier to get good "rainy" results with this product or doing that in postwork. Especially if you add figures or other objects. I have many brushes from deviney (Rons Fog, Rons Rain,...). So is this really worth buying?

Thank you!

Urban Future 2 Dreamlight Light Set With Animated Rain uses the planes with transmaps technique, so I suspect this is the same. The 15 or so planes criss-cross each other and are animated in a timeline loop, so there is a lot of potential variation. I confess I haven't actually used it yet in anger, so I can't vouch for its effectiveness, but that would really depend on the aesthetic you're looking for.
