     thanks Ub, I am using Clip Studio - have had ir for ages I just export my iomage from PSE and add some speecho bubbles - that's the main thing - it also has speed lines :)

    Bunyip, I love the range of effects you are pulling out of the filters you are using. You've inspired me to spend more time with G'mic. I think Super Ribbit is hilarious, but the sheer joy of the bear in the woods really made  me happy.

    Headwax, I love the illustration feel of the "Boy finds spaceship" variants, though I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite. They look like they belong in a Ray Bradbury collection.

    UB, Love the Jack Kirby tribute. The colours are perfect! Spiderman is amazing!

    Vyusur, the textures you've used are beautiful.

    I'm afraid we've been getting crazy weather which has my chronic migraines all wound up, but I've been poking away when I can stand to look at a screen.

     

    Title: Origins

    I wanted a non-photorealistic starfield, so I made a plane deep purple, nearly black, then in the glow channel added Enhance C starfield.

     

    I tried my hand at modeling the spaceship, but I'm not sure if it is a spaceship or an ugly light shade. The weird alien soccer nets are the Carrara objects trellis tipped over and retextured. I tried using multiple copies of the virus with each set to a different transparency to try to get the comic book motion effect. Not sure it worked all that well.

    I used ToonPro for lines that I then took into photoshop to darken and thicken.

    I use G'mic Wild Cartoonizer on the full image.

    Then took that to photoshop and ran it through Topaz Glow 2 which added to the toon effect.

    Then Clip Studio Paint for the motion line and the text balloon.

    Gonna aim for a 'Far Side' style cartoon, 2 human sized cats and a cat sized human. smiley

    Cat head on the right was the first attempt but got too dense...22 polygons around the neck, so I started over. One on the left is a little lighter, 14 polygons around the neck.

    edited 'cause I can't tell left from right...

    something silly from me - didnt notices that I wrote 'here' initially. the images are quite big so you can click if illegable. alligator from poser? put on m4's body

    DesertDude, those sketches are great. So much movement and life. Like seeing your buddies too!

    Headwax, So when a crocodile tells a joke, I'm guessing everyone laughs? I love how pleased they are with themselves.

    I'm trying to slowpoke away at a second pic. I decided I needed a lucky rabbit's foot keychain. Surprisingly few around. I've used the key from Carrara objects. The loop joining key to chain is a repurposed hose from Carrara objects, ditto the chain, but from the handcuffs. I modeled the cap at the end of the foot and the foot itself. Tried creating impression for toes, only to have the hair cover them anyway, of course.

    Looking good so far, rest of the image should be great if this is an indicator !

    that's my favourite joke - originally about blondes :)
