bones no morphing with new figure morph

Right, so Like I have said I am looking for a mentor because, like this I must be missing something and it's probably simple.

Genesis. i have a figure morph, it changes the height and most details. When I reload the figure from the basic pallete and then apply the morph the bones stay in the original position. The figure of course does not move right.
What do I need to do. If you could out line the steps to repair this and the whyfores I would appreciate it.

EDIT:
Think I have it. dial up morph, adjust rigging to shape, erc freeze, save modified asset. Not sure what all that is for, but it seems to do the trick

Adjust rigging to shape - fits the bones to the new shape
ERC Freeze - Links the bone changes to the morph dial so that they dial in with the shape change
Save modified asset - saves the updated file

What about a manual change to the bones. I need a bone slightly editied by hand, left shoulder to be exact. yet for some reason I cannot seem to get the change to stick like this. is there something I am doing wrong or something I need to do that I am not aware of?

Are you ERC freezing it? If so at which point is it not staying? eg is it reverting when you make the change or the ERC freeze isn't taking or?

actually to be more precise the bone is behaving "oddly". Let me get to a start point then I shall step myself through this and try and describe what is happening.

    Genesis loads; appears normal.
    Dial up my morph.
Right Shoulder bone is floating upward and getting many times larger. (this is one of a number of different outcomes I have gotten. though this one is the most consistent.)
Left Shoulder is floating upward (though not nearly as high), and looks like it's getting smaller.
Tried mirroring the joints earlier and I expect that is why, though the resoning escapes me.
Moved bone downward manually (it shrank when this was done).
A JCM is in place. So I Move the bone to where I optimally want it to be. Then, because the left joint is also out of place, I mirror the joints.
I bend the arm back to its neutral state. The bones are in the correct locations and everything seems to be working correctly. I Go to the morph, Edit Mode is already on, I use ERC Freeze.
A number of options are selected in the freeze properties. Only one of them is the Right Shoulder. The Left Shoulder, however, has 9 selected properties which seems odd. I Accept the settings.
I Dial back the morph returning genesis to base; now cannot move the arm. This has happened before, again reason escapes me, and sometimes the motion is only limited.
On the morph I can move the arm and the figure looks correct and the bone is place. For the interest of completion and data I will move on.
I save modified assets, it shows genesis and my morph in the list. I then delete genesis.
I load genesis the figure appears normal. I cannot move arm, I dial my morph up, the right should bone does not move at all this time and the left bone floats upward but does not scale large. I have been fighting with this all day.

I am about to go mad from this. I think i may have damaged my genesis and am not sure how to fix it, morphs that are not showing as currently used seem to be on. I have been trying so many things that its jsut a jumble at this point. I jsut don't know where to go from here

If you can help I would be so very appreciative.

When using ERC Freeze you should have your morph listed at the top, as the controller, and the joint offsets listed in the things to be controlled. Adjust Rigging to shape would always be a good place to start, even if you tweak later. Did you memorise the figure at any point while adjusting?

Well I decided, in the middle of the night, to try something and it seems to have worked. I removed the .dsf and reimported the morph directly. made my changes and then went back through the process. it seems tohave worked. I need to rebuild my JCMs amd it need more testing but so far so good. I guess I jsut needed to step back and give it a rest to see it clearly.
