Photoshop alternatives

Hi all,

As a new user to Daz3d, I would like to get the best I can out the software.

As I understand it, experienced users of Daz use Photoshop to make the final image more presentable.

I'm on a limited budget and can't quite afford Photoshop to produce the best results I can get.

Are there any low cost/Free imaging programs compatible with Daz3d?

Thanks in advance.

H.

Any 2D art program. But GIMP is free and does most things PhotoShop does if not all.

As Jaderail says, GIMP is free, you can't do much better than that :)

If you mean able to use the Photoshop bridge, then the answer is no. Image programs are not compatible with DAZ Studio as such, just with the formats that DAZ Studio can produce renders in, like JPEG, PNG, TIF etc

Paint Shop Pro is quite cheap, and is made by Corel, Adobe also make a cut-down version of Photoshop called Photoshop Elements which is very cheap too. I have used it for a few years now, and it fills all of my needs. It does NOT work with the Photoshop/DAZ Studio bridge either.

Ah, good Point Jimmy. As far as the Bridge goes only the Stand alone full versions of Photoshop can use it. Not sure what all the version numbers are or I would list those.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I think I have a copy of Photoshop Elements somewhere at home.

Failing that I'll download GIMP to see what it can do.

    Thanks again.

Adobe sell it's Products now as Cloud Versions - 30 Days for free and than you have different Options with monthly payment - take a look at Adobe Homepage.

The cloud versions still do not work with the Photoshop bridge that comes with DAZ studio, it only works for stand alone versions. Not saying not to use PS cloud just that this function in DS will not work.
