Modifying an articulate prop

MarcCCTxMarcCCTx Posts: 924

I wanted a male version (rack-bar) of the female bicycle.

I imported the .obj file into Blender
Rotated and moved the bar up (it's a single piece not connected to the rest of the frame)
Exported as an .obj with a slightly different name into the same folder as the original obj.
I duplicated the .cr2 and gave it a different name,
Opened and changed all the instances of the .obj file name to the new name.
When I tried to place the file in DAZ|Studio 4.6, I got the bounding frame but no bicycle.

I imported the obj file using the Blender settings and got the basic file and the material zones,
so I could copy and paste/modify the materials. But it is no longer an articulate prop.
(inarticulate / non-articulate?)

What did I do wrong, is there a way to do this? (I also have Hexagon)

More general question - How do you make articulate props? Where do I look for information on this?

I think you've lost your body part names, so no geometry is defined for the parts of the figure.
Make sure that you tell Blender to import polygon groups when you import the model. When you export it, again tell Blender to export groups.

Thank you, I feel I'm getting close, but I have to go to work.
