Installing Error

I bought and downloaded the Bryce 7.1 Pro- High Res Terrains. I downloaded it through the manager and when it went to install it, I got the following error:

Install Manager cannot find a required path. The package for "Bryce 7.1 Pro - High Resolution Terrains - Set 1" requires that the installed path for "Bryce 7 Pro, 7" be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the "Applications" page of the "Settings" dialog, then try again.

What does this mean and how do I fix it? Thanks.

It means that you need to set up the path to Bryce in the DIM. To direct the installer to where ever you installed your Bryce 7

Thanks for the incredibly quick response but I have no idea what your talking about. What is a DIM? What is Bryce 7? I havent changed any directories while downloading anything. I let the manager do all that. It sounds like I have to find whatever this Bryce 7 is, get it downloaded and installed, then reinstall the terrains. Is that my issue? Thanks a bunch again.

The terrains are for use in Bryce 7 pro, and will only work in Bryce 7 pro. So yes you will have to purchase and install Bryce 7 pro before you can get them to work.

As with all software Bryce does have a learning curve, so I wouldn't normally advise buying a product like the one you have purchased before you have bought, installed and tried Bryce out with what is already provided with the program. It does contain a lot of content already. Around 670mb of content.

DIM is an acronym for the DAZ Install Manager.

Thanks for the info. I did not know there were several programs available. I assumed everything available here was for DAZ. Kinda sucks I spent the money on a module I cant use but I will check out whatever Bryce is then. Im guessing that has a way to tie into DAZ. Its pretty confusing that there is multiple programs but the site only mentions DAZ.

DAZ 3D does have a 30 day refund guarantee. Fill in a support ticket here https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/requests/new

Daz 3d actually have Daz Studio, Bryce, Carrara and Hexagon in their own portfolio, and are resellers for Vue as well. Plus a great deal of the content they sell will also work in Poser.

Always check this panel on the product page, particularly the software compatibility, which I have highlighted.

DAZ 3D is the Site or store. They carry DAZ Studio Free at this time, the art program, Bryce 7 Pro another art type program featuring terrains, Carrara 8.5 another art program that also models, and animates. They also sale other software such as Vue Esprit a starting version of Vue. They sale Hexagon a modeling program and yet other things. So assuming DAZ 3D was only for DAZ Studio and its content was a easy mistake as DAZ is in both names but DAZ 3D is much more than just A Studio user site.
