Cross-eyed DAZ models FIX
I was probably one of the early adopters of DAZ products, was a reseller for a while as well. To this day, DAZ models have a noticable defect in that the models (unless they are looking straight on) look cross-evyed or even wall-eyed at times. I know why that is, and have commented on it previously. I also know the fix for the problem, (which by the way would increase use and sales of the characters significantly.).It is not just a problem of focusing/tracking. An example of a cross-eyed model with a correction via digital imaging is attached in this post.
As a fine artist working in painting and sculpture - human, figurative, realistic - as well as medical illustration, I know well the anatomy of the eye. Human eyes, as well as most mammals are asymetrical, mirror images of one another. In other words, each individual has a right eye and a left eye. The cornea and iris are not perfectly round as in the DAZ models. The cornea and iris are slightly elliptical, and the elipses are slightly off center in relation ro the eyeball. Eyeballs are also more elliptical in cross-section rather than spherical.
I suggest that modelers and texture artists work with me or someone with similar knowledge as a consultant on this issue.

Curious, how can one be a reseller of DAZ products?
Hi David!
The eyes in the right image are much better, but she's looking past my right elbow, unless we're talking about a different viewer.
It's true that eyeballs in Genesis figures are weird, and need to be fixed. I've jiggled eyeballs on a bunch of projects. But, Daz doesn't monitor the forums and these kinds of rigging changes need to be done on the base model primarily. You can contact them by submitting a ticket. The topic has come up before, and I kind of think they understand there's a problem, but maybe they'll be interested in your eyeball wizardry. We're due for a new base model in the next couple of years, so anything's possible.
I don't know if reselling is still an option. I did this early on in the public offerings of the product. I set up an independant website offering DAZ 3D models. I recieved a percentage of the sales. For a while I had more traffic to my site than some major corporations. I accidently lost the site when I changed my auto-pay options for the web hosting. and it did'nt renew properly. I was too busy at the time to set the site up again.
