Content missing in C8.5

So I bought a couple of things from the store the other day - Turbo Hotel http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/tubo-hotel and Robot Titan http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/robot-titan

When I came to use them, could I find them in my smart content library? Could I heck. They were nowhere to be found. DIM claimed they were installed, and the files are definitely where it says they are. But they don't show up in the library.

I then checked back to some other stuff I bought recently (Stonemason''s Streets of Asia 2 for example), and that doesn't show up either. Stuff I bought a month or two ago is showing up just fine.

So, HELP! How can I get to my content?

Thanks.

Do you have PostgreSQL CMS installed? If so, DIM will add things to the PostgreSQL database rather than the Valentina database, and Carrara only reads the Valentina database.

If you don't have PostgreSQL CMS installed, then your Valentina database is probably corrupt.

I don't know - how can I tell? (other than I don't get any content) And if I do, how can I fix it?

If you use DIM look in the Installed tab for PostgreSQL CMS. If you don't use DIM then you don't have it.

Ok, yes it's there: I have 2 items
PostgreSQL CMS (Mac 64-bit) and Postgre CMS From Valentina CMS Conversion. Is it just a matter of clicking Uninstall for them? Presumably I'd need to reinstall everything that's more recent.

Yes, uninstall PostgreSQL, then select all the items you've installed since then, right-click to Re-Import Metadata for all of them.

If I may jump in on your discussion - I am having a similar issue and found PostgreSQL CMS in my Installed tab. I deleted it but it is listed in the Install tab waiting to be installed again. If the button isn't selected it should be installed but how can it be deleted from the list altogether?

Also, I have Diner Food in my Download tab but when I select the button and click Start Queue Install Manager closes and I can't reopen it by clicking on the Short Cut icon on my desktop.

Is my DIS corrupt? I tried reinstalling in but the same problem still happens.

Other items I installed, I thought successfully, can't be found in the Content tab in Carrara. I am thinking the install path is now different than the rest of my models but I am having difficulty getting a handle on what the folder structure and file paths should be. That is probably a whole other learning adventure for me that over lapse with this.

You can right-click on PostgreSQL in the Ready to Download tab and choose "Hide Packages".

In the Installed Products (or Ready to Install) list, there's a little right-facing arrow on the right of each product listing, next to the Uninstall button. If you click that, you'll get a popup menu, and the top item is Delete. Click that and it'll completely delete the product, and move it back to the "Ready to Download" list. From there you can Hide it.

Uninstalling will just move it to the Ready to Install list, and you can't hide it from there - you still have to delete it.

I tried the Delete option in the fly out menu but it didn't work. I just uninstalled DIM and reinstalled. I downloaded Diner Food again and it worked. DIS did not "close" this time. Now that it seems to be working (fingers crossed) I'll try your instructions too. Thanks for the quick input.

I have this problem too and I am really pissed. Why is DAZ adding a new DB to the content management system and screwing up Carrara without telling anyone ahead of time. So I install the new DB for nothing and waisted my time and now I have to waste more hours. I am so getting tired of all these tech snafoo's.

Now with Carrara 8.5 using CMS, I agree that, at least some mention of its non-compatibility would have been nice. I do hope that they make this all work for Carrara too, in the future. If I'm going to use the CMS at all, I like the idea of it NOT running in the background when I'm not using the apps that require it, etc.,
