I feel silly for asking this, buuuut...
Hello Everyone!
I'm new here, so I'd like to apologize in advance for my ignorance!
I'm attempting to create my first character using Genesis Basic Child, Mavka for Genesis, and Sadie for Genesis. To do this I started with Basic Child, ensured that the entire figure was selected then added Sadie to the existing figure by right clicking and selecting that option. I used the same process for adding Mavka. This all seemed way too simple, so I've felt like I was missing something (or several things)from the beginning.
Then, when I went to adjust the sliders to determine how much of each character's features would be in the shape (I was expecting percentages, but was surprised to find decimal points from 0-1?) it seemed that the only thing changing was the height/size of the character. I couldn't tell that the features were changing at all. Is this what's supposed to happen, or am I missing a step? Or are the changes subtle enough that a beginner might not notice unless watching the feature closely?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Are you using the fullbody morphs under actor. This should change the body and head.
Check under head and see if they are active
Hi, BD!
If i understand what you're doing, it sounds like you are replacing one character with another. Let's say I wanted to combine the three characters you mentioned, I would go about it like this. I would add basic child to the scene, select it, then go to the Shaping pane. then I would turn down the slider for child to about 33% (depending on the creator, the slider would either go to 100 or 1 - either represents 100%)
First picture. basic child at 100% and at 33%.
Then I would select "All" under Shaping and type Mavka in the Search slot. This should show the slider for the Mavka morph which I would set to 33% (picture 2)
Then I would repeat this for Sadie. (picture 3) and now you have a Genesis 1 figure that is one-third each character. And since she's a little girl, I gave her one of Sadie's Hairstylez.
Hope this helps.
Thank You TJ!! You are amazing! I really appreciate you taking the time to provide a visual, you have no idea how helpful that is.
I got sidetracked tonight, but I will be following your instructions first thing tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes!
Thanks Again!
It's worth noting that the morphs you've mentioned also alter the scale of the figure. You may need to increase the scale of the figure to counteract the cumulative effects of having 3 scale morphs combined with the figure.
Good point! Is their a way that I can determine the height based on some standard scale?
Thanks!
Easiest way is to just load another genesis, move it to the side, and not morph it.
Slosh has a free measuring wall at ShareCG. Load it in behind your character and you can see the height:

There's also this pricey sucker:
