Step by Step Instructions...Pretty Please!

I've searched the forum and I've read the instruction manual until I'm cross-eyed, but I have NO IDEA how to transfer the Genesis Evolution Muscularity morphs, or the Genesis Alive! morphs from Genesis to Genesis 2 Male using Genesis Generation X2. If someone has successfully accomplished this, and if it wouldn't be too much bother to write the instructions down step by step, I would be very grateful. Thanks so much.

Sorry, I cant give you an answer to your question. I also have no idea if or how that would work. But since there are still no muscle morphs for G2F or G2M I am also very interested if Gen X2 could be a solution to get them.

Open the GenX tab, click on the Source button and choose Genesis. It may take some time to load depending on the amount of morphs you have installed.

Before you start, right click in the main GenX area, where all the morphs are listed and hit All > Transfer OFF. This will ensure nothing unwanted is currently selected.
Now right click again, Show in List > enable Pose Controllers, JCM, and Hidden (I leave them on to be on the safe side, I can always hide or remove them post-transfer if needed).

Here's where it becomes a pain in the ass.

Up at the top, there's a search box, set the drop down to the right of it to GROUP (it's set to ANY by default).
Now type in "muscularity" without the quotes, and hit First.
Tick the box on the far left of the first morph it highlights.
Now hit NEXT under that search box and do the same for each morph it highlights after that. You'll have to hit NEXT each time to find them all.
What this is doing is finding all of the morphs grouped in /Universal/Muscularity (and any other group with Muscularity in it's name if you have any), which is where Genesis' muscular morphs are.

    Once they're all checked-
    Mode: Selected
Shape: Genesis (There's a drop down next to Shape w/ Fast, Edges, and Smooth- check the manual for what this does)
    Target: G2F or G2M

From here it works the same as transferring from Gen4. Set your preferred options @ the bottom (limits, etc) and hit TRANSFER.

As for Genesis Alive, I don't own that. Check to see what the name of the group is, and with any luck they're in their own group you can search for the same way. If they're not, you'll need to go through the morph regions manually scanning for them. There's only 26 of them though, so you can open the product page up to the What's Included tab and search for each morph name and tick them that way (set the drop down from Group back to Any or Full to search by morph name).

Thanks very much, Vaskania. Very helpful.

Quirky thing happened to me while I was clicking “next.” Every tenth click or so, the checkmark would be white instead of black. This was an indication that the “next” button wouldn’t pull up the next morph unless I clicked through all of the morphs I’d already checked - then it would begin showing me more…

Unlike with the search term “Muscularity,” searching for “Genesis Alive” didn’t pull up anything. When I clicked over to the Morphs tab and clicked All, I was able to scroll down and SEE the Genesis Alive! folder with all its morphs, but for some reason, those morphs are not to be found in the Transfer tab…

Regarding the first/next results, I'd have no clue why. That sounds like something D3D could answer better. Maybe something to do with the searching algorithm, unless morphs are able to be located in multiple regions.

With the search, have you tried just using "alive"? My other idea would be to right click in the morph window > show in list > and enable empty parameters and search again.

I did search for "alive" and other various versions of Genesis Alive! and got bupkis. Tried your suggestion about right clicking in the morph window. For me, it was: show in list > empty controllers. Checked it anyway and again, bupkis...

Doesn't look like this is possible, but I saw in a thread from a few months ago that the creator of Genesis Alive! was possibly going to make a version for the Gen 2s...hope so!

Thanks for all your help, Vaskania!

It is required to transfer morphs to G2F/G2M.

    Np!

One last thing you can try, you'll have to manually go region by region in the GenX window, but if you click the Group heading it will alphabetize the group names, and maybe that will get you what you need.

Only other thing I can think of is that for some reason they're not showing up in the window to begin with, which you'd probably have to get in touch with D3D to find out what would cause morphs to not show up.

    ...good, just needed to know.

At first I thought it was an add on to transfer morphs from G2F/M to Genesis1 (like how the ones for the Gen3/4 figures worked with the original plugin) so I didn't get it at first. After getting nothing to work with just the update I finally learned that the add on was necessary for transferring morphs To, not From G2.

Since the Genesis Alive morphs are combinations that use both the body and muscularity morphs, they are probably master dials rather than true morphs (actual changes to the mesh). You might need to load one of the Genesis Alive morphs to see if it is a master dial and then check the GenX manual.

Hm. Clicking the group heading doesn't seem to want to do anything for me. I'm sure it's user error. :)

That sounds like a smashing idea! (How might I go about discovering this master dial?) :cheese:

I think you just dial in one of the Genesis Alive morphs to full strength, then look in the Currently Used to see if any other dials came in with it. Make sure you have hidden parameters on.

Okay! Thanks to Vaskania’s detailed instructions and icprncss’ suggestion, I have achieved limited success. Here’s what I did:

Follow Vaskania’s instructions to open the GenX tab; click on the Source button; choose Genesis and wait for loading; right click in main GenX area where morphs are listed; and choose All > transfer OFF. When you get to the last step (right click again, choose Show in List > enable Pose Controllers, JCM, and Hidden), instead of enabling all three, just enable Pose Controllers.

Then under the Morph heading, scroll down until you find (figure) Genesis. Click the down arrow and look for all of the morphs that have a check mark under the Type heading. The pose controls that are checked match the list of 26 custom muscle morphs (.dsf files) under the What’s Included & Features tab on the Genesis Alive! product page. Place a checkmark under the Morph heading for each of them.

Follow the rest of Vaskania’s instructions: Choose Mode: Selected; Choose Shape: Genesis Choose whether to use Fast, Edges, or Smooth; pick your Target: G2F or G2M; set your preferred options; hit TRANSFER.

Start a new scene and load Michael 6. Under the Posing tab > Generation X > Genesis > Pose Controls, you will find Legs and Torso, both of which contain the transferred morphs.

    So…yay!

Unfortunately, the aniBlocks themselves are not working for me. But by analyzing the combination of morphs dialed in for each of them, I should be able to cobble together a reasonable facsimile thereof until the new set for Genesis 2 male/female are released.

    Thanks again, guys! :-)
