My tiny notebook computer came to a sudden and disastrous end, so I have this cool "Asuz" 64 bit laptop with windows 8.1. When I installed daz, and brought back everything from backup, I couldn't find any of my dreadfully disorganized content. Then I was really busy with other things. So now, I'm stuck at the car dealer for a few hours while the car gets serviced, so I thought I'd figure out where everything went.

Wow. I'm back to rendering! Trotwood here is still a K4. Hehe. I mistakenly loaded the old "Millennium Preschooler" Trotwood and even HE rendered.

Heh-heh, been there, done that, Torby!

The hard disk in my old HP laptop finally gave notice, so I decided to just replace the thing, and at the same time, get rid of all the HP "bloat-ware" they insist on larding their machines with. Fortunately, I have a 2TB NAS (Network-Accessible Storage) on my home network, as well as a 3TB external. (Hey, it's not paranoia if someone really is out to get you!)

But I seized on the opportunity to streamline my content libraries. I use both Poser and DAZ Studio, so I had content scattered across some seventeen runtimes!

Well, it's down to nine, now.

I'm going to call that progress....

    hehe

I was at the laundromat and had brought my "pixie" computer, "Tilly" along to amuse me. I decided to go across the street to an interesting looking burger joint for supper. As I crossed, my left foot dropped and my sandal caught on a high spot and I went flat to my face and Tilly went skittering across the pavement.

This computer is VASTLY faster, or maybe FASTLY vaster. I rendered this with 3 lights and shadows at 1024 x 768 in just a few minutes.

Actually, I've found that when it's time to upgrade, the Universe isn't mysterious or subtle at all; it can be downright blatant about it!

"Do it! NOW! Here, let me force the issue! (Crash, clatter, sputter, pop) There! Now you have to!"

Signs. They're everywhere. You just need to know what to look for...!

It's a bit stupid though - it doesn't teach you to backup your files before after you've lost them. Or maybe it's so wise that it knows that you wouldn't have listened anyway...
