When ever I use SubD on anything it makes my perspective view in Studio Lag. I was wondering what hardware is responsible for how the perspective view works.

I have a 3.60 Gig 8 Core Amd FX and 32 Gigs of Ram
I am thinking of upgrading my Video card in the hopes that it will improve the lag.

The card I am thinking of getting is

SubD subDivides the mesh so it takes more RAM to deal wiht that copy of Genesis2. The more levels of subdivision you apply the more RAM it takes

In this case your getting a double hit, as mentioned the actual size of the item has grown in Ram, and it is also getting the textures applied to the now denser item, remapped on the fly, by your Graphic Card running the Viewport OpenGL screen. Both will have slowed to some extent.

The card I am currently using is a little old and has less then a gig of memory.
