pwSurface2 Trouble - edited: DS 64-bit Mac issue? Settings missing. [Solved]
My post below has expanded. I also found the AoA distant light does not work on DS 64-bit either, settings are missing and the scene renders completely dark.
You can have both 32 and 64 bit on one MAC right?
From Yesterday--------------------------
I'm having some strange issues with pwSurface2 and DS 4.6.3.50 64-bit. Previously saved surfaces (saved in 32-bit) render white and newly applied pwSurface settings only seem to change the tint of the object (the skin preset tints the model green). When clicking in the surfaces tab (on the previously saved scenes/surfaces) only around 8 settings are displayed compared to the usual 40 or so.
previously saved and newly applied pwSurfaces appear to be working OK in 32-bit.
Any ideas?

After switching from DS 32 bit to 64 bit (on a MAC) the AoA distant light, Subsurface Shaders and pwSurface2 were not working. Settings were missing and scenes/surfaces were not rendering properly. After an uninstall/reinstall on these products everything is back to normal...
New shaders applied and surfaces/scenes previously saved in 32 bit are rendering as they should.
I guess it's like they say in The IT crowd- "Did you turn it off and turn it back on again?"
If you didn't have the 64 bit version of DS installed when you installed the shaders then the actual shader files, which live in the application folder, would not have been placed in the 64 bit version. Both plug-ins and true shaders (as opposed to shader presets for existing shaders) will need reinstalling if you add a new version of DS (32/64, or production/beta) to your system.
Thanks Richard! This makes sense. Does the reinstall automatically put the needed files in both folders (32 bit and 64 bit)? Let me know if there is a place I can check for all these items that need to be updated by an un/reinstall.
I just checked both shader folders and AoA_EasyVolume.sdl is missing so I'll reinstall the cameras now.
In the About Installed plugins pane I have all green lights.
Yes, unless there are separate packages, reinstalling will install the files to all applicable versions.
