Need short hair styles for men. Genesis G1

I am looking for some hair for my Genesis Basic Male figure. I want short hair styles like crew cut or as short as possible like military but not necessarily bald. Anyone know where to get a package of many styles of men's hair for the basic Genesis G1 figure?

Look for Hellboy Soto's hair on ShareCG: he's got a couple of very workable options you may like. Also see if Joequick's M4 superhero set is still up there: I believe it comes with morphing hair.

The problem is, there are very few hairstyles like that - maybe in some shop I didn't peruse - made specifically for Genesis. You'd mainly have to autofit M4 and H4 hairdos and then possibly tweak them through parameters. Three or four hairstyles for M4 that can be fitted onto Genesis (remember Vincent for F4 has a conforming hair model with lots of fits!). Another very helpful reply to my question but it also brings up a new question. What are the facts on Poser files as far as using them with DAZ? I see a lot of references to files that are listed for Poser. I thought (but I don't have a clue) that Poser could use DAZ files but I didn't know the opposite was true. I am going to check out all these links and see what I can grab. I already found a few of them a day or two ago but the more the merrier. :) As far as purchasing stuff I am going the free route at first until I know what I am doing. I am not a member of the Platinum club yet. I am mainly focused on Facegen Exporter to DAZ and need to fully understand the limits as I am using the output in iClone. Facegen Exporter only works with Genesis V1 but it is unclear if that is just the basic figure or any of the V1 figures. What I need is an inexpensive Genesis character (I think I found one, Donovan) and I am downloading it now.

DS can use most of Poser files - except for Poser dynamic hairstyles (:-() and clothes (:-(). Poser has less ability to use DS-native files. It is because DS was released when Poser had already been around, so we needed to be able to use PZ2s (the typical way of applying morphs, poses and textures) and so on.

I just ran into a problem for which I will start a new thread about exported fbx files from DAZ that when imported have dark eyelashes. Thanks for the info. I have already read Scott Livingston's post on the history and also have viewed the matrix on the characters. The second paragraph in Scott's post on the history is why I asked about Poser files as I wasn't sure if it was a 2-way compatibility.

Don't dare you say that, you're not a noob! It's such a pejorative term :shut:... The forums exist to learn from each other. I wish more experienced people than me would come and speak up here, I'm not very knowledgeable in regards to DS - the majority of what I've learnt so far was by trial and errors. I just try to be of any help if I can. Have fun with the models :P!

Thanks. Just learning too many different apps at once I guess would be fair to say. :) Well, I have a lot of pretty faces and I just realized I need some bikini's to go with the girls. More money. They should be cheap enough cause their small. :) Anyhow, had some problems with half of my order not downloading (downloading failed) but went back and tried to manually download from my order page and some items said "save old file" so I figured them were already there. Then I just started the whole download again and it finished the downloads ok. Just a glitch I guess. Anyhow, if you know of some sexy bikini's for my Genesis girls let me know.

EDIT: Like for the Mina Character (or head or morph) I thought I would get everything in the pics. Like the 3rd pic over had a nice bikini but was showing the "eye options". I want that bikini. :) And I am not sure if that is the Genesis or Victoria 4 body. So I have lots to learn.

Wow, more good stuff. :) I really appreciate the extra effort on helping me find the clothes/accessories I am in search of. I found a few of the things in the links above but not all of them. I have the male basic wear but not the female. Its gonna take a little time to have it sink in what generations will work for Genesis V1, like the M4 and Poser stuff. Then I will further complicate it with transferring it to iClone. Rome wasn't built in a day but with all of your help it won't be too long before I understand all of this DAZ stuff. Again, thank you very much for the help as it is much appreciated.

Every little bit helps. Seems like there are a lot of things I am looking for that aren't in abundant supply but can be converted etc. I am using the finished figure in iClone so I can only use Genesis. But as I keep learning the ropes maybe I can use more than I think except when using Facegen in the mix then it's only Genesis(5) V1 but otherwise I can use Genesis(6) V2. :)

The problem with Neftis stuff is the fact those hairstyles are mainly fibermesh hair, which takes lots of time and memory to render. The dreads are best as fibermesh, but plain hairdos don't need it very much to be believable. I imagine fibermesh may be very tricky to export to iClone as it is heavy on resources.

There are actually only a few hairs from Neftis that are fibre mesh hair, the majority of her catalogue is transmapped hair.

I agree, fibermesh can be problematic, and I don't like it too much. But Ceazarius is definitely NOT fibermesh!

I agree, fibermesh can be problematic, and I don't like it too much. But Ceazarius is definitely NOT fibermesh!

I didn't want my post to sound as if I was implying Ceazarius is fibermesh, sorry! I was talking in general. I think the best hairstyles by Neftis are the fibermesh ones. Basically, Beautiful Black or Paul Hair are one of the best if not the best curly hairdos I know of :).

Thanks to everybody that responded. Thanks to Cecilia and Polka for the links. I have purchased a bunch of that stuff, but not all, as I am running out of money! Well, just keeping an eye on it anyhow. :) I did get the Victoria 5 Base but am holding off on too many figures until I am sure they will work for me and my intended plans. I definitely needed the hair though and will probably buy some more of that for converting into props.My head is starting to spin. I will check back soon but I need to go and test some more of this stuff.
