for rendering fun I think a Flat Earth model would sell well

also phone towers seem absent for our urban renders

a collection of essential oils would be nice too

no hidden agendas for doing  parody I swear devil

also maybe a multilevel marketing theme pack

party nibbles, presentation poses, plastic food containers, makeup samples

    plastic food containers?

Why would anyone want to model containers for immitation food? wink

Attached is a food pot obj model similar to the plastic pots used in our local Chinese Take Away. It's not texture mapped & is a converted STL model (so all triangles - started life as a SolidWorks model) with a top & bottom face to all surfaces. Do with it as you will. It's modelled in cm, so import into DS at 100% scale. There are two separate models, lid & base positioned correctly relative to each other, but one or other could be loaded independantly. When stacked, each lidded food pot contributes 2.75cm to the stack (should you need to do a linear array of them as if a stack has just been delivered).

    Regards,

    Richard.

    yes

was thinking about wuppertare but still useful

  • I probably have 200 of these food pots in my workshop, each labelled with the contents (eg 'M8 Nuts', 'Spare Drill Bits', 'Pop rivets', 'BAP 300 Carbide Insert'). Some are now nearly 20 years old and getting a bit brittle.

Hmm, Wuppertare. Don't have much of that type of thing at home. May take a look this evening, most of what we have came as the reusable container around little individually packed cakes that my wife scoffs before I can have one. [mutter, mutter, grumble]

Did Sempie ever release that amazing tupperware freebie they were making?

OK. Done another little model. This is a model of the little 5cm/2" diameter food pot we heated our daughter's baby food up in just after weaning some 23 years ago and we still use occasionally for 'things'. Same caveats.apply, it's a SolidWorks model, modelled in cm, saved as STL, converted to obj by my STLtoOBJ program. No texture mapping.

How would you do a flat earth? Put one half of the globe on one side and the other on the bottom? Seems fairly easy to do, actually, just take a circular flat primitive and stick a texture on it... Maybe we need models of microchips that go inside vaccines too lol.

as you may have gathered this was a tongue in cheek request thread,

    for parody renders

I was being very careful not to mention the conspiracy theorists

That wouldn't work... Flat earth has edges where you can fall off, which means no normal people can live down under.

    there are Official ones

That cannot be an official one. Where is the Turtle? Where are the Elephants? Can you see the impact point of the fifth Elephant?

And where are the mountains at the hub?

Feel that would be a deeply discounted, knock-off flat earth. It would likely have a city called 'Reme' and have a strata somewhere with a fossilized dinosaur holding a placard demanding an end to nuclear weapons.

[Cf Terry Pratchett Disc World series and his book 'Strata']

That was the first thing I thought of.

Daz had a problem with realistic models.  It's all fantasy stuff here.
