When I create a subdivided primitive it doesn't take any preset textures! Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks!!!

What Primitive are you creating, and what Preset are you trying to apply?

    Is it a Shader Preset?

What program are you using to make the primitive? Is it the same program that your rendering in? I know Daz and Poser have primitives that you can use and subdivide. Or are you making it in one program and sending it to Daz and or Poser?

If you are making it in Daz and using shaders on it in Daz, you have to have the item selected in the scene and in the materials tab while applying the shader. Some shaders you will not be able to see the change in the preview window until you render your object.

I'm in DAZ Studio doing it all -I first create a cube I then change it to sub-d - I then go to the AgeOfArmour rock preset DT-Preset then drag and drop a preset to the sub-d.

Same thing, you MUST select the object (cube) in the Scene pane, and the surface in the Surfaces pane as well, and as fictionalromance says, you may not see much change in the Viewport, you need to use the 3Delight renderer to see the effect.

Thank you!!! Can you copy and paste the rock to make multiples?

No, but you can use the Create > Node Instances to create multiple copies, and you can scale them all differently, but they will all have the same texture.

Or, you could save the rock you create as a Scene Subset, and merge that any number of times into a any scene.

Or use Edit>Duplicate>Duplicate Node(s) to make independent copies.
