An update has been detected for Daz Install Manager. And that was the last anyone heard from the eve

DIM keeps telling me an update is available and my only options are to update or work offline. Update just seems to throw the program into a perpetual loop where it goes through the motions of updating but nothing ever happens. What gives?

    Greetings,
What version is DIM currently on your system? If it's something like 1.0.0.15, then it does need an update. You could try downloading it from http://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info and see if installing directly works.

    Thanks. I'll try it manually.

Had this happen to me a month or so ago...I eventually did what Cypherfox said and downloaded the updated version directly and installed it and it's been fine ever since...

The only Issue I have had with this Version is I had to close and Re-Open it before it read my config file properly, it then worked fine. But for some odd reason, I can not find, it simply refuses to ADD to my Quick Launch task bar. It is the only version that has done this. I hate things on my desktop but for now there it sits.

That's odd Jade, since out of curiosity I just pinned a shortcut for DIM 1.1.0.21 on my Quick Launch bar. I'm using Win7 Pro. Is that what you're using? The only time I was using a friend's Win8 laptop, I didn't notice if she even had a Quick Launch bar once she hid that stupid Metro screen.

I have several apps on mine, though none like DIM, DS, Poser or the like. Just every days apps like Win Explorer, calculator, my zip/compression app, etc. Not sure why you're having a problem adding DIM to yours.

I had that too ... downloading from my Product Library
    http://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/#prod_14811
    and installing by hand worked.
