Shaders

I have three folders for Shaders - can they all be moved into one folder with breaking anything?
Thanks

What are the folders called, obviously they cannot all be called 'Shaders' or they could not co-exist in the same Library folder?
I have Shader - Let it Snow, Shader Presets, and Shaders. The one for Let it snow is probably a typo, and it should have been Shaders as opposed to Shader, so I could easily combine them.
Inside DS Content, you can really do as you please with the structure, but I would be interested to know which ones you are wanting to combine?
The folders are:
Shader
Shader Presets
Shaders
I would think they are only used when you apply them and are not connected to a product and would lose the programs ability to find them if I moved them into one folder!
Thanks

If the one called 'Shader' only holds Let it Snow, I would move that into the 'Shaders' folder.
I would leave the Shaders and Shader Presets as different folders though, as they are really different things, but some of them may not actually be in the correct folders to begin with. It's only one extra folder after all.
I've always thought Shaders were meant to be fully shaders separate from Daz Default (ie AoA SSS), and the Presets would be for options/settings for those shaders (ie DimensionTheory's SSS Toolbox for AoA's SSS), but it never works out like that.
Recently DAZ has been standardising on Shader presets for everything, even the presets to apply base shaders. Moving the files will break uninstallers, so you could potentially end up with two versions of the presets if there's an update, and will of course break Smart Content and categorisation but it shouldn't stop the files from working.
Thanks Richard for explaining this.
Are you shifting folders in windows or in the content library?
In the library under categories you can put them all in the one folder. That is how mine is set up...
