Any way to have just ONE content folder?

I know I am using Daz and not Poser, but it gets annoying when I can't find something I know I downloaded.

I prefer the Poser format of the content folders in daz. They just make more sense to me. I have them further customized to improve workflow.

Then, I need something I can't find only to find out it's in my daz content folder.

Is there a way to combine the daz content with the poser content without losing anything, giving me just one folder to find my products in?

So far as I know, the only way to have everything under one tree in DS is using categories, which may or may not require a fair amount of work depending on whether or not you want to use the Daz Default categories (I don't) , and how much you've bought that doesn't have it already set up through Smart Content.

I don't use Smart Content because I'm used to using the Content Tab since DS 2, which didn't have Smart Content, and as far as I know, the reason for the separation of content is because products created for DAZ specifically, such as Genesis 1 and G2F/G2M as well as DS plugins, etc., have to be installed in the main DS Content folder in order for DS to "see" it. The Runtime subfolder is, of course, for products that are created for both Poser (primarily), and DS use. I know that some vendors have started including their DS specific textures together with their related Poser textures, so that you no longer have to go find them if you want to use the DS textures.

Needless to say, that's a great improvement, because I also hate to have to move from the Poser format content to the DS format content just to apply textures.

That all said, I'm not sure if this helps you or not, but thought it might be useful information in any case.

I don't use the smart content list, either.

The only way I know of to have everything under one Content folder is to manually unpack each product, organize the folders yourself and then repack and install to the content location of your choice.

You can have one library, but Daz Studio content will always be shown under Daz Studio Format and Poser content will always be under Poser Format Content when looking in the Content Library (except those cases where Daz mats are lumped in with Poser mats in the Poser Format folder).

You can have DS-format files in the Runtime with the corresponding Poser items -- DS will use the DS file in that case. The Poser and DS files must have the same name. This won't work for .daz files (although this can be done by having a script to load the .daz file).

I only have one content folder as my main folder, the extras are my older content folders from other PC's. I just used DIM to install everything to one folder and then added my third Party content to the very same folder. This does create some issues if a extra folder from before holds the very same content so I do not swap those into my Paths to be used every load of DAZ Studio. Only when I know it holds items I can no longer find on the web because they were removed or something. But all content folders will hold both formats if you want only one. That is the default way the content folders work. I never saw a reason to have it 100% organized as that is doable with categories and has been from the DAZ Studio 3 days.
