For some reason Daz 4.6 does not want to render using lighting. the rendering stalls and takes ages. i dount its my system, im using a graphics card only 3 months old in the market (AMD), 32 GB ram and so on, really good specs. why cant i render when using a lighting set up fast?
Also im getting a strippy pattern on the characters (Shadow map issues?)

What kind of lighting setup are you using? (a few spotlights, UberEnvironment and lights, uber surface lights, something else)?
Is rendering just very slow, or does it stop completely? Are there any error messages?
There was something a long time ago I hit where it got stuck in a loop or something during optimizing images prior to starting the render (it displayed messages that were just repeating), I think the workaround was to cancel the render, save and exit and restart and try again.
Note that depending on what is in your scene and the quality settings you use for various things such as UberEnvironment, this CAN have a dramatic effect as compared to the default lighting conditions. One scene with a bunch of lights and lots of transparency on objects slowed to a crawl to the point that I was never sure if it had locked up or not if I just sat and stared at it, I had to wander off and do something else and come back later and see if it had added anything. Don't remember for sure, but I think that render took a few days to complete, although most are much faster than that.
(Also note that your graphics card normally isn't being used when rendering, and thus won't have an effect on it.)
It would be helpful to see screen shots of your advanced rendering settings along with your light settings.
There are a great number of factors that can cause a render to go slow or fast so leaning to balance them is handy.
I believe these is another AoA's SSS shader issue. His shaders are great but they have two big 'gotchas'. One, they look horrible in preview requiring lots of test renders to get the look you want. Two, they require 'pre-processing' before they start to render, so the render will appear to do nothing until that pre-processing is finished and processing is done separately on each object that has a surface with the shader applied.
