What do these controls do? How do they effect the lipsync?
I don't know yet. This LipSync Live for Daz Studio costs $50. I'm waiting til I get some money at the end of this month to buy it and experiment with it. In the meantime, there is a video at:
http://www.daz3d.com/mimic-live
that can bring some light on the subject. Further on, I might give you my own impressions.
No sweat. Thanks for originating this thread at all. It's been very useful.
joeping has another Mimic Pro for Carrara thread, where he goes through some beautiful steps on how easy it can be to tweak out the timing using the Mimic Pro for Carrara clips that get created as a result of using it.
Perhaps it's due to a lack of practice on my part, but I can hardly compare DS or Poser to Carrara when it comes to animating. They just give me major headaches where Carrara pulls off what I want with relative ease.
Then again, I have still to get into my Mimic stuff. From the little practice that I did have with Mimic, both in Carrara and in the stand-alone, I'm fairly certain that I'll be able to tweak out my lipsynching to my liking, with relative ease.
Argus, I do appreciate all you do in the animation world, and then share your process with us...
Have you done much with the Mimic Live? Do you really like it better?
(I have no issues with jumping around between DS and Carrara when needed...)
Like I said, I haven't tried it yet. I plan to buy it soon. I'm not saying it's better than Mimic for Carrara, of course not. There are many editing possibilities with Mimic Pro for Carara that don't exist in Mimic Live for Daz Studio. I was just intrigued by a coupe of buttons (Delay and Animation interval) that could make life easier to a beginner in facial animation like me.
