That's a good animation. I'm finally going back and investigating the Carrara features I've never used, like the Surface Replication Tool used in that animation. And I'm also finally going to finish PhilW's nice Carrara tutorials. Probably. :smirk:

It isn't necessary to know all the mysteries of Carrara to produce this little clip, a simple well rendered scene can be welcome !
The purpose of Carrarators is to join together truth impassioned of animation with Carrara because there really doesn't exist some forum for that.
There, it is pure Carrara animation and we speaks about many things, the problem it's that it's necessary to be connected to see all the posts…
    You are welcome Steve !

    Hi Steve,
You are not the first which says that he's registered on Carrarators and who doesn't appear on the list.
I believe that 0o7 (our administrator) should see where is the problem…

It said I would get an email to "initialize" my registration, I haven't seen it yet.

Steve - for some reason the email bounced - I think it was blocked as spam. Can you email me at "[email protected]" so we can sort it out.
Apologies for this but looking forward to having you aboard soon.
    cheers

I dunno either. In any case, I'm registered, thanks for the help. I posted an intro in the Forum, typically self-promoting. I'll never get an Oscar any other way.

    Steve,
You don't believe in the Oscars but what you present on Carrarators has an excellent quality !

I can't offer anything in Carrara because i have never worked with it , I'm just a poser & daz user.
t I have seen a few animations that i have really liked done with Carrara though . the physics looks awesome.
But just can learn anymore software at this time. or my head might explode from information overload..lol

Thanks, Dudu. As I've mentioned, the two day contest has the advantage of being able to say to people who like them, "Great, thanks!" If they don't like one, I can say, "Well, we only had two days." If I had all the time I wanted, I'd have to try to do it right. :ohh:

I'm also reluctant to get into a new major program, there's always a learning curve. But I recall Carrara being a fairly smooth transfer from Poser, which I used to use regularly. This is mostly due to Carrara having such seamless handling of Poser format content, i.e. the Runtimes show up in Carrara's browser, all the Pose dials are available, etc. A recent poster here even asked, "Why the hell does a Daz product [the Carrara Pro trial version] have Poser-style controls? Part of why I use Daz is that I despise the clunky Poser interface." [I suggested he try the hot keys, e.g. for camera control].

So it's pretty close to being in Poser, but with better handling of large scenes (at least versus the older versions of Poser, I haven't updated in a while). Poser users may want to try the 30 day trial of Carrara Pro 8.1 from CNET, if they have some time.

Ivy, you have made some impressive animations and they always feature in the CarraraTor Cinemas when released.
My compliments - just wish you were a Carrara user but we may convert you yet ?

Ok folks - work on it.She "deserves" to be using Carrara dont you think? Ivy would be an awesome member to have at CarraraTors.

Wow that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about my Daz & Poset animations(((Blush)) Thank you 0oseven that is very sweet. :)
I have thought about getting Carrara a few times but having to start with another learning curve did really appeal to me that much
it was my understanding that poser can almost do everything Carrara does though i like the fact that Carrara uses expansive environments which does appeal to me a lot .. who knows maybe in the future I'll give it ago :)
