Help needed: installation of metadata from downloaded zip files

Hi.
I like to download the zipfiles for products that I buy at DAZ and to install them in locations that are different from the standard way DIM uses. Everything is fine for the product files but the metadata files are not handled at all. Is there a way of telling Studio to read a metadata file? I just could not find information about it.

Thanks in advance.

Content Library pane > options menu > Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata

Tried that, it doesn't work. The metadata files that I'm referring to are the ones called Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx. Since I'm not using DIM they are not found by Studio. I need a way of letting Studio import them.

    Thanks in advance.

The Manifest.dsx and Supplement.dsx files in the root of a package are not used by DAZ Studio. They are used by Install Manager.

Thanks for the answer. So, there is no way of importing metadata manually?

If, for some reason, the files do not have metadata (there should be a .dsx file in Runtime/Support), and you wish to create your own, I have posted a video on YouTube showing how it is done. Here is a link to my video thread and you can find the YouTube link in the first post. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/30526/

By the way, I absolutely love using Reality and can't wait to see a version 3 for DAZ Studio ;)

    Thank you Slosh.
My mistake was to skip the Support dir. I realized later that that's where the metadata files are.

    Cheers.
