Surface glow with SubsurfaceShader?

Hello!
If you have a look at this: http://www.daz3d.com/yamaki-rapture or this: http://www.daz3d.com/gis-biosuit
you can see that parts of the surfaces are glowing.
But this glow is not done with lightning (like using an area light), it is done with the SubsurfaceShader!

Now I am trying to create my own glowing surfaces using the SSS, but I really have no idea how this is done.
Can anyone be so kind and explain how to get glowing surfaces with the SubsurfaceShader?

Thank you very much!

    Crank the ambient.

SSS Shiny Plastic, SSS Toolbox, Adv Ambient set to diffuse fill, and Adv Distant on low. Base widget is white plastic, the two 'glowing' areas are sky blue. In this, the ambient on the two blue areas are at 75% with a blue ambient color.

    moar colors!

The last one is what happens when all 3 zones have separate group ids. Since they don't interact, it's rather boring.

Except for minor burns, no cgcookie widgets were harmed in the making of these images.

Is this done using AoA's Sub-Surface shader? Or another shader?

Yes, it is the AoA Subsurface Shader which is included in DAZ Studio.

Thanks for the answer Vaskania! I will have a look at those settings.

Np. It's the same process for any shader.
