Suit shaped bodies

I'd like to suggest for the men, a suit shaped body that can be dialed in to prevent outfits from clinging inappropriately. That is shaped like well..kind of a business suit with squared off kind of shoulders etc.  I think clothing might hang better and not cling like it does to muscled forms. Weight and height could be dialed in to match the character. Sort of like how video game do.

I think that is what projection morphs are for. They morph clothing without affecting the shape of the character. I don't know much about them, but SickleYield did a tutorial about them on DA once. I don't know if they can accommodate any arbitrarily shaped character, though.

  • I did something a bit like this with projection morphs for G1, G2 and G3:

Sales were poor, so I never did one for G8.

I liked it. Very nice. And how can we forget decrackifier? Your sets are awesome. I'm sorry it didn't sell.

  • I was thinking a bit more though, about the outfit shape being the body so to speak. Then applying outfits to that. Too often, for example, outfits look odd across the shoulder. So something with shoulder pads, to make it look more like a body wearing cloth.  I mean, we have tons of monsters. Wouldn't a body thats more sqared off, create a less lumpy clothing look.

I mean, whenever I put clothing on the characters I like tto use, I really have to dial out some of the musculature or the outtift strains to fit the fiture anyway. So wouldn't it be easier to make a smooth body morph, that clothing fit better?

  • A potential issue is that one morph can't lock the mesh against others, so if you want to buff up your man the muscle shapes will show through unless there is a specific projection morph to stop them.

  • DAZ Studio doesn't handle muscles very well in suits. Perhaps a muscle morph could be added to make things drape more realistically on a more ripped guy.

I agree with the suit morphs. I find myself morphing the figures instead of using projection morphs, so I know I'd definitely buy a product like this. Perhaps the suit morphs should come in different shapes to mix with characters. Like reducing the muscles of your G8M and then adding the suit shape to still keep G8M looking big while wearing the suit. Same for heavier guys or thinner guys, etc.
