Trying to think ahead for when DS might not be free any more.

i have it installed on my home desktop, right nows, and that's it.

I'd like to install it on my dayjob pc, before i can install anything at my dayjob, i have to show to my mgr paperwork that i own the s/w.

and i'm looking at 2 laptops that are on sale. they AMD processors.
hoping rendering won't melt the laptops.

oh yeah, and all the plugins i bought for DS? like Luxus,
advanced shaders, garibaldi hair. lamh hair. I'm assuming it's okay to install the lamh free player on all puters?
I'd like to install the plugins on one laptop + the desktop. One laptop i keeping 'vanilla' to beta test render stuff I'm making.

oh, what about Carrara? I only have it on one pc at the moment. would i have to buy it again for a laptop?

thanks.

See the EULA Section 1 clause D.

You can find the EULA by clicking on License Agreement at the bottom left of any page on the website.

The Content may be copied in whole or in part for User’s exclusive use. Specifically, User may copy the Content onto the storage device of an unlimited number of computers owned or controlled by User. The Content is for User’s exclusive use and no other individual or entity. Each individual must obtain his or her own license to use the Content.

Basically, as long as you're the sole user of the content, you can put it wherever you want, so long as you remove it if you sell the pc/leave the job.

We...eelllllll ... the EULA speaks of content, not of the software.
As DIM is nowadays installing DazStudio, I can't see a License agreement for the software anymore ...
Could somebody contact Daz and ask whether the EULA is for software too?

It is. The EULA is for anything purchased from DAZ 3d, and that includes purchased at zero price

Wait... so someone who wishes to put the Dystopian Console on two computers needs to "purchase" it twice?

    Legally speaking..

    Same user = no.
Different user = needs different account with "purchase"

    Again, straight from the EULA

You can find the DS EULA here:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/docu.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/eula/start

I am on a mobile device, so I can't copy paste, but it basically says you can use one license it on as many PCs as you want, as long as you are te only individual using it. Basically the same rule as the content rules.

Misty you can put it on an unlimited number of computers with the same serial number, as long as you own or control all of the computers.

That is what we keep trying to tell you. I even made it bold in my last quote of the relevant section of the EULA to make it more obvious

It's a little known fact that an experienced caveman wrote detailed essays on how to hunt big game using well fashioned weapons, on the walls of their caves. However, it was quickly learned that the rest of the tribe couldn't agree on what the exact procedure was. So the author chipped off the old paint and drew a few stick figure pictures, turned to the crowd and said "Ug, follow deer and hit with rock".

we all know the cavewomen did the actual ruling, it all went downhill after the men took over

If you have questions regarding things like plugins, especially those created by PA's, your best bet is to submit a ticket and get something from them in writing. That way you behind is covered.
