Evolution Morphs: Dials not showing in shaping editor

Hi All,

I'm frustrated beyond repair at this point. Newly converting to DS after Poser has become unworkable on my PC. I have a deadline and am desperately trying to learn DS. I have been searching the forum and cannot find an answer - mostly because the search forum keeps bring me 'no results'.

I have just purchased the Evolution Morph pack for Genesis and installed it through the automatic installer through DAZ. I can see that the files have indeed landed in the data folder, right where they should be. When I load the genesis male figure, I am not seeing the dials for the evolution showing up in the shaping tab.

The lack of documentation or instruction for this is disheartening.

Is there something else I need to do make the morph dials available for genesis? I REALLY need to get this done.

Win 8.1
Lastest version of DS

Thanks for any help.
Lorrieann

    Parameters tab ...

Edited to add: for beginners, there IS documentation
    Front page, Help, documentation center
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/start

    Hi Kerya,

Yes, I've read all of the user guides that are available for Daz. I've looked on the parameters tab. The issue I have is that NONE of the evolution morphs are actually showing up on this tab (nose bump, ear shaping, etc) even though they have been installed. I can see them in the data directory, but they will not load on the interface.

Puzzling ... you installed them to the same folder where your Genesis lives?

Genesis 2 Male doesn't have an Evolution morph pack.

Is this the pack you bought? http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-evolution-morph-bundle

If so, that's for the original Genesis. You've indicated in your post that you loaded Genesis Male, and Genesis 1 didn't have separate male/female.

    For Genesis 2 Male you'll need http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-male-s-morphs-bundle
The equivalent for Genesis 2 Female is http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-female-morphs-bundle

In total there are 3 Genesis figures. Morphs from one, won't work on the other unless you have GenX2 w/ the correct expansions.

    Genesis (first Genesis figure, unisex)
    Genesis 2 Female
    Genesis 2 Male

Genesis 1 could be anything he/she/it wanted.
Genesis 2 went back to the Generation 4 method of doing things and separated out the male and female figures.

That is indeed what the issue is! I did not realize I was pulling the wrong model. Thank you!

One other gotcha, if it's head morphs you're looking for on Genesis, especially the pose controls and expressions, you have to select the head (not the whole body) then look in the Parameters tab. The two Genesis2 figures are set up differently, everything (I think) is available with the whole body selected.

  • I am thoroughly disgusted with DAZSTUDIO!!! The morphs don't work with any models that I have. There was a time when morphs would appear "AUTOMATICALLY" and shaping faces was easy for users.  Did you read what I just said? EASY FOR USERS!!!.

This has now become an "OUTRAGEOUS" 3d program!!!

What figure are you using, what morphs, and how were they installed?

  • Yeah I have the same problem too, especially when i have to pay for both genesis male and female morph and even when i downloaded free morphing dson support file it doesnt show on my daz studo. Hell why dont they make genesis morph free or hell install a morphing tool for daz studios next time? In my opinion, it would make things alot easier and not confussing to anyone thats new at this.
