Victoria model confusion

Hi all,

I am a new Poser user, and I am confused with the difference between Victoria models.

I just need a basic model and clothing for a project of mine:

- I see that there is a base Victoria 4.2 model available at (http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-base)
- There is also a free Victoria 6.0 that requires the Genesis 2 Female kit.

Is all Victoria 4 clothing compatible with the Victoria 4.2 model or do I need to go through the Genesis route?

Sorry for the newbie question.

    I'll try to answer ..... :)

    - Victoria 6 is a shape-preset (a morph if you like) for the genesis 2 female model
    - Victoria 4 is a standalone model
    - While there are technical differences between V4 and V4.2, all v4 clothing (that support the base V4 model) should work on V4.2
    - To a degree V4 clothing can be 'autofitted' to the 'Genesis' model, though there are limitations, esp. for long dresses and the likes...
    - To autofit V4 clothing to Genesis 2 female (NOT genesis) you need an additinal plugin; autofit from V4 to G2F is not standard available

question for yourself is: what do you need for your project? Is the clothing you need only available for V4, then it is best to get(buy) the V4.2 model
But there are many outfits available for genesis that may be of better use for future projects also, (and don't forget the freebie sets available....)

    Welcome, tolga.ahiska!

I recommend taking a look at A DAZ Newbie's Guide to the Figures which was put together by SickleYield. And for even more information, there's DAZ 3D Human Figures, A History.
