That's never fun, went threw similar when I first moved in (frozen pipes), that was a cold winter.

Critters ran over the pipes tarring up the insolation and damaged the heat tape outside, so I redid all of that and covered the mess in swimming pool vacuum tubing to protect the insolation and heat tape (five years and still good).

It's almost as good as the Alaskan pipeline, except done by an 'Amateur', lol.

I also notice the first winter I had some frost at the tops of the walls (the insulation had started to slump), so I replaced ALL of it. Inside the pipes don't go threw the wall, it goes down a box inside the place (I did not do the indoor plumbing, that was here already).

Yes...donuts, especially ones that you really, really want to eat, yourself.

Great...it's warmer in Moscow than here,  it was -4 F/ -20 C overnight.

From the outside. He would fly acroos the room in the general direction of his cage, crash into it and then use his beak to fumble his way across to the door.   It was really comical. Ho would sit catching the bubbles in the glass of beer which was how he got tipsy.

Nothing against Jay or anyone else. I noticed the stats in a vid and I had to make a note of some things, lol.

    FX-8350. Launched 23 Oct 2012, 8 cores, 8 threads, 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo).... What's new in 2016/2017?

I have eight actual calculators in my computer cruising along at a 'Base clock' of four point zero gigahertz (Not even over clocked at that), am I somehow supposed to be impressed with less. Turbo boost does absolutely nothing when 3delight has ALL of the CPU cores fully loaded with work, and trying to cram sixteen lanes of 3delight traffic threw an eight lane highway merger is only going to cause a traffic jam.

It looks like x86 has lost it's way.

I think I have a tad more enthusiasm about another processor family at this point, lol.

And it has little to do with a storm passing threw today. Be safe and worm y'all.

I think it can also have a transparent background?

If Photodeluxe ran on anything after XP, I could easily do that. However I don't see an 'easy' way to get just the red transparent in GIMP without days of brushing away in an transparency layer for a single size result.

After making the original, it's just been easier (and I think looks better) to just place it over stuff with "Lighten only" or "Darken only".

Perhaps IF it was not near the end of my day i'd have more ambition to dive into the original to extract an outside edge mask (If that's even possible with GIMP, and works in DS). It's easy to just bucket color the perimeter in MS paint, as long as I don't need to fuss with the innards. Red to transparent is the question I guess, lol

Yea, I can't figure out how to get the 'Mask' image, into the 'Transparency' slot for the other layer. In PD it's a simple Right-click-"copy layer" and Right-click-past operation.

  • The free Paint.NET editor has this plugin:

    http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/15595-grim-color-reaper-plugin/

Removes a colour from an image and makes it transparent.

    I can't live without it.

OK, took a few bounces back and forth between Paint and GIMP, tho it appears to work.

Downside, it's 2kB larger then without transparency.

Is that plugin for GIMP, or some other program? The last time I ever fussed with a Plug-in was a very very long time ago, I don't remember how to pour the stuff into GIMP.

Alright, today's task is to plug in a new keyboard without rubbed off letters so I can see what keys I'm pressing, and to look threw a short list of alt mats to pack up (and make duf icons for).

Depending on the number of eye and makeup options, I may not get all of them done today.

Looks like DES Grace , DES Kaia and LY Jessenia does not have shadow-baked eyes, I therefor will make some complementary presets for them. LY Hanny is going to be a tad more involved with all the other options.

P3D Dewi and P3D Luna has shadow-baked eye maps, so I will NOT be wasting my time making eye presets for them. Evil admission, I've been using FWSA Paloma's eye maps on Dewi with some renders, it's bad, lol.

Raiya Kelly is another good eye-map figure , that's six figures for eye maps. Jolina is the other Raiya figure I have floating around here somewhere that I've yet to do anything with.

I may change that RS folder to something else as Summer from the V7 Pro bundle has significant problems that have Never Been Addressed. Adiene Silver Akimitsu is a very nice figure, especially the eyebrows and ears. Also Lindsey for Sunny 7 is another one that works quite well, and ADSI Glimmer has incredible eyes. So I'm sure Silver knows how to make figures, I'm guessing Summer is another victim of the rapidly evolving shape of G3F from the development days. I'll need to think about that folder a bit more.

While I'm on the lose with pokes and prods, this one is with a bit of humor. First a jab at the forum software after clicking that thing five times now  , "Spell check you FAAK!" (tm), lol.  Now that I think it is clear that this is in good taste, and I don't 'Hate' any one... This is why I don't use some figures dialed in at 100%.

Aside from beings in The Moppet Show and the Star Wars franchise, what species has an abdomen cross section smaller then the upper leg, lol.  Actually I think there is a few frog species with smaller tummies then the size of a single leg, however isn't there a frog in the moppet show .

It's all good, because for some sick twisted reason, That's what sells a lot apparently ... lol.

There is a gazillion different plugins for PdN, loads are very useful. I think I do 95% of non-HDR image editing in it. It loads much faster than GIMP on my system, if anything.

...those characters with baked-in shadow, they are for G3F not V4?! Good grief.

Alright, fun aside, changing eye maps and saving eye-only mat presets is quite tedious. I did have some stuff already done that I thought would make life a tad easier for me...

I think I'm going to just keep those icons after slapping a '3DL' on them, the colors are kind of visible. I did kind of walk into a bit of a nightmare with a few figures I had some stuff set up already. Yulia and Sushmita have a $#!+ ton of make up and tattoo maps,  I really don't want to fuss with that today, ugh.

Why you ask, well.  I know the pain of not having five digits $$$$$ to get a top-end mainframe CPU for setting up scenes in 3delight, and I know all to well how some shaders can spot-render about as fast as plate tectonics. Nothing is more excruciating then waiting over half an hour just to see if a light needs to be adjusted more. Some times you don't need it rendered in photo real quality, you just need it to render today within a budget, because life is limited. That is why I do this.

Yea, and I may have just 'endorsed' a few others unwittingly. I just looked at a scene that I need to find the post for.   Akimitsu and Spencer are two other figures I'm guilty of using Paloma's eyes on (I don't remember if I pointed that out or not in former posts). I would really like to know just how Iray promos can be made to hide such eye-baking without photoshoping the render, or can you turn off casting shadows on Iray lights, lol.

Akimitsu has some really nice ears, and I do like the eyebrows... And fortunately she dose have some maps for "Down there" unlike Spencer. Well worth getting and using some one else's eyes on.

There has been an "Undocumented update" for Spencer lingering in DIM for around a week now, I suppose I should check that out. What there is of Spencer does work, so I'm not that eager to break something, lol.

LY Jolie, 2016-12-17 - default render subD level of LY Jolie Iray reduced to reasonable value.  Thank You!   I'm poor and only have 3.5GB to work with after drivers (Damn you NVIDIA for skimping on memory), lol.

Nora and Tresne also pored into the computer, I'll look at them now. errr... I don't think "Cornea bulge" will fix that.

Tresne has some eye location issues, and the other has 'minimal' maps to work with. I will inject after such devastating news, that Agnes and Enya are looking very good (making mats now).

Morning, I think I got most of the good eyes done so far from what was in the short list, with the exception of one PA. And that was a place holder for the one that I thought was worth dredging threw all the preset check-box savory. So I do a quick search for the dials, and am greeted with the shortest list I've seen in a long time with the exception of what I can afford, lol.

Oh yes, the FP-time is strong with this one, tho only around a minute or so.

I have no clue why the Daz Studio can't use more then that, , whatever, it's not that bad. I thought one of them had all the attributes I was looking for fussing with settings on, I just can't remember what one it was now. Estela has some cute ears, and I don't think I've done anything with Graciana yet. I need coffee, and I may just need to restart Studio after a few days of fussing with mats.

yea, something that we all are guilty of having a tendency of, making mistakes. I think it is kind of there in the former posts, many PAs make incredible stuff then have a blunder here or there. It's not the mistakes that I find distressing, it's the thought of how rushed out the door some stuff must have been, the eyes were noticeable from a distance the instant the shape dial was moved. And that was not the first time I've seen that with eyes, so I'm not sure if it is just how things get imported into studio from some other Z-whatever-designer program.

Speaking of eyes, I knew there was another I was forgetting about, ADSI Glimmer, I am so sorry.

Incredibly nice eyes to work with.

There is one minor thing to consider when working with her mats. The gen maps appear to be about 2% darker then the rest of the figure, so setting the Diffuse 2% darker on the rest of the body, or setting the gen Diffuse 2% brighter appears to gets things matched close enough for most things. I've already done that adjustment with the settings in my AltShader mat set for her.

That anjou hair on the other hand, , that renders about as slow as glacial advance on planet HD209458-B, lol.
