Aeon Soul outfit problems
Hello, I purchased the new outfit and I'm having problems with applying shaders to the neck and left thigh piece. All other pieces seem to be working fine. In the neck all parts take the shader except two mirror imaged pieces. They go straight black. For the thigh armor the right thigh works just fine the left thigh goes straight black. Cannot figure it out? When you load all the armor with default settings you can see that the left thigh and the two pieces in the neck have a different shade to them. I tried to brainstorm this one myself but no luck nothing but head ache. I did find that the right thigh had a collision iterations of 3 and the left had a 2. I tried changing that setting and still no luck. I posted an image in the gallery asking for help but no replies. This is a really good outfit and I would like to use it with the thigh and neck pieces working. Can someone at DAZ help me?

OK I can't help with the outfit but you can post the image in a post here, and that will be more help for others and help you in return. :)
Hello I have attached a photo of the problem. Armor at neck two pieces. And armor on left thigh. Also noticed two large jewels at pantie are warped?
Which shader are you using?
Also, are you selecting each object in the Surfaces tab as you apply the shader?
I have the outfit and am not having any problems.
What lighting are you using.
Here's an image of the default textures, lighting is 1 Advanced Ambient light at 70%.
Hello I did some tests to make things simple. I can see the slight difference of tones of the bad armor on my computer screen. But when I render with the default armor you cannot see the difference. Aeon Test 01. The lighting is the sandard daz default preview light. Heres the kicker when i render all the ornaments with the shader key lime pie. Aeon Test 02. You get bad results? Please Help! I really like this armor and would like to get it working,
I do not have the outfit but it looks like some sort of UV mapping issue, obviously the default textures work as made for it but other shaders and textures may not
I wonder if there are reversed normals too.
Have you tried re-downloading and re-installing the outfit? I've tried a few different shaders that I have, and they all work fine.
One of my friends asked me about this the other day, the problem your seeing is due to the normals having been flipped.
Most wouldn't spot it as it doesn't look to different to the rest in a normal render, but I suspect that your using Gamma Correction along with a different shader and it's these that are making the problem stand out like a sore thumb.
I wish to just point out the miss use of the word Armor in many of these posts... it was never once offered as Armor and only mentions being used to Spice up (IE add to) other sets. It does not once get called a full set of Armor.
http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/fantasy-ornaments-for-genesis-2-female-s ORNAMENTS are not Armor.
In the beginning I tried the deleting then redownloading and reinstalling had no luck. Tried it again just now thinking maybe they fixed it and still no luck. The same pieces of ornaments are producing bad results same issues. The neck and left thigh ornaments?
As for the normals being flipped is that something I can fix? Not sure what that means.
And as for my misrepresentation of calling the ornaments armor. I think that stems from purchasing so many products. Like the Heroine Fantasy Armour which in the description states Classic Fantasy Armor. And that outfit is even skimpier than this one. Armour, Armor, Ornaments my apologies. Any ideas on how I can fix the problem I am having?
I tried rendering it with another shader and Gamma correction on and for me it came out fine.
Jaderail I hope your comment was suppose to be funny as it really wasn't at all helpful, necessary or even relevant.
you don't the vendor should if is the case, submit a bug report on it
Which shaders exactly are you using I've tried a variety of shaders but am not able to reproduce your problems.
Armor, ornaments which ever, it still looks very High Elvish to me....
Ehm ... the left thigh piece looks green ... not sure that this is fine?
@ scorpio64dragon, load the set into an empty scene, add a standard distant light to the scene, change the viewport display to "Smooth Shading", now slowly rotate the camera around the items (camera cube), what you are looking for is specular shine, normals facing "out" will have shine while those facing "in" wont.
I haven't seen the mesh in the flesh yet, but when I was talking to my friend on the phone I got her to do that, and she confirmed my suspicions when she said that the left thigh and parts of the neck had no shine.
@ kizmiaz, yes it can be fixed, but it's something you want them (points at DAZ) to fix, chances are I'll still end up having to fix it for my friend. I'm still using an older version of 4.6, so for me it would be 10-15 minutes in the Polygon Group Editor, select the offending polygons and reverse their winding order, then save the modified assets. However I will have to do this over at my friends, and she is up to date with her version of DS, and iirc the PGE has been replaced in newer versions, so I will have to learn the new system before I can fix it.
Tried that, both left and right thigh look the same and both have spec shine.
Kerya I only put the Green shader on the left thigh piece.;-)
Ooops - and I thought that was a side effect! LOL
This may be a DS quirk that can happen when trying to apply a shader to multiple surfaces at the same time. Use the Surface Selection Tool to pick one and just one of the offending surface zones then apply the shader. Since the product has HD morphs I find it doubtful that here would be any reversed normals as that is something you would notice when making the morphs.
I have daz4.6pro 64bit on my computer and I tried a few more test.
Attached is a photo of what is similar to the shade tones I am seeing when I load all the default ornaments on my computer. I was able to show this by loading the shader metal onyx onto the left thigh ornament.
Also attached are two photos of default armor with shader applied to all the jewels. The shader I used was 02 Key Lime Pie from the Latex Shader pack I bought from daz. Same bad results. The neck piece jewels get shaded as one whole object yet it only effects all the jewels on 2 pcs of the oranment. And the left thigh it effects all.
I went through all of the shaders that came with the outfit and they all seem to work just fine, except for one. Well it worked except I kept getting an error message when I applied it. Ornaments shader Goldred kept giving me the message. Missing Files Some assets needed to load the file were missing. The content may not work as expected. The following files could not be found. /data/AeonSoul/FantasyOrnaments/FOPantie/UVSets/AeonSoul/Base/default.dsf.
Sort of frustrated.
Hello I just received an update for the Fantasy Ornaments outfit. Thinking yes they fixed it. They got it half right. When I put all they default ornaments on I could see there was no tone difference on the left thigh but still had a tone difference on the two pieces in the neck. So I applied the shader keylime pie to all the ornaments to test. And sure enough left thigh is now working but the two pieces in the neck are still producing bad results. See attached photo. Hopefully someone from Daz is monitoring this tread.
