  • Hi, I just purchased your Face Mojo Genesis 3 and 8 Bundle from the Daz shop today and downloaded your Face Cap iPhone app. How do I live stream?

I purchased Face Mojo because it says in your Daz Shop bundle description I can live stream at the end of your description's 5th paragraph and I need technical assistance with my purchase from the Daz shop so I can live stream with my Genesis 8 model.

    Thank you.

How does one get the data from the iphone app into Daz Studio? Really on the bubble with this one. Looks great but I just want to be sure the functionality works for me. I have iPhone 11 and Face app.

You use the app export/save feature to save to your phone files in fbx format. Export from there to your PC/Mac.

What "app export/save feature"?  Where do I find that?  Laylo described a process without FBX, which I could only follow to a point:  I saved the json and video files to my mac, selected a figure in Daz and selected Face Mojo, but don't know where to go from there.  Any help would be appreciated

FM saves both JSON and WAV files on the iPhone itself. Then, if you know the secrets of iOS, you get those files into Windows, for me that's the awkward part. Once they're in Windows, you open the JSON file in the FM plugin in DAZ, and it applies it to your character. You must import the WAV file using DAZ itself, FM doesn't do that. I find it quite satisfactory, myself. I've not tried it with an FBX file, but I imagine it works the same way.

  • That helps, thanks!

Hi, I wanted to know, is FaceMojo able to to export Genesis 8 characters using FaceMojo animation to the Unreal Engine?

Hi! It used to be able to, in older versions of Daz Studio, something around version 4.12, but last I tried in some of the newer version it seems Daz broke something and the character exports without a face. :(

You can always use Face Mojo with UE4's Live Link Face to live stream facial animation directly into UE4 with Daz characters.

I have videos on how to do it if you're interested:

  • I bought the face mojo for genesis 8 female today under the impression you could do a live link in daz3d but the general use tutorial are all export animation, this feels really miss leading as you can buy an app for blender once you create the blend shapes you can export al this out why such the huge price tage for this when all it does is retarget and cant do a live link?

I feel like your product video is very missleading its filmed like your are doing it in real time but from what I can tell you are not as its a recorded fbx, is this true?

I HAVE GOT IT everybody that USES DIFFEOMORPHIC and uses face cap read this!!!!!!!!!   ... FACECAP data can be easily imported into blender in like one click... And then added to a DAZ studio character

This works on Genesis 8 so I know but first you import the Daz character INTO  Blender with these settings https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cczu1sNxYvAcLsvrwDo-M7Ok1y3DtdMA/view?usp=sharing and then you go down to the import FACECAP BUTTON that's on the diffeomorphic blender plugin at the bottom near morphs that you imported ....under FACS units... and click it and use these settings https://drive.google.com/file/d/1csmVsDz9NyPt9FhIzKhqDAyps_KY-CN9/view?usp=sharing but when you record your FACECAP animation ON YOUR IPHONE you gotta output the text file those options are in the settings of the face cap app on iPhone... So essentially to play with face mojo and blender in this case we have to skip FACE MOJO entirely and go directly through Diffeomorphic otherwise Face Mojo is an awesome aDDON

Hi there, I see Face Mojo is on special at the moment, and I am considering purchasing it, however I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone on here can answer.

Can I use this as a tool to add realistic facial expressions to a Daz figure in a scene, as opposed to using it as a tool for animation? This is primarily what I'm interested in using it for, creating realistic, stand alone expressions that I can apply to characters in my renders.
