When a Bryce model file includes a .mtl file, where should this be placed in the Bryce programme?

The MTL files are just a guide, to show which textures the model requires. Normally you only get an MTL file with a model which is an OBJ

    true Bryce models are OBP

I keep my OBJs and the MTL files in a folder called (very creatively :-)) my OBJ files which is just on my Hard drive, as OBJs need to be imported into Bryce, not stored within the Bryce file structure.

Thank you very much chohole, you have explained many things that have puzzled me, very much better than the Bryce manual did. :) :)

P.S. Cardinaless Biggles (or should that be Cardinaless Worrals?), is a great fan of your work.

    Good, glad I could help.

If you want to use the model regularly you can turn it into an OBP yourself within Bryce and store it in the Object Presets Library. It will then store all the materials in the preset, to save having to look for them.

Thank you once again! As we now have a 64bit computer with 8Gb RAM (and made Bryce large address aware), we hope to be able to use your very nice bridge.

@CardinalBiggles - once you have doubts where Bryce stuff belongs, this document http://www.horo.ch/docs/mine/pdf/BryceContent_v4.pdf may answer the questions.

LOL, that bridge really needs to be done again, and parts labelled properly. It was done a few years ago, and the boolean mesh is a mess. but it does work.
