Lycaon the Werewolf question ...

I see on the product page that freak 5 is required, but I've learned not all of the 'required' products are always, really, required. Can I use it with just genesis, because I never use genesis and am not familiar with all of the ins and outs.

The figure, as loaded from scratch has Freak 5 dialled in at a setting of 0.5. You can, of course, dial that back to 0 (I guess you may get an error of file/morph not found if you don't have Freak 5) but he does end up looking a bit like the runt of the litter ;)

I figured as much ... I can't have a runt on the book cover.

OK ... well ... as much as I dislike genesis for humans, I've always thought creatures and aliens always looked better, so I guess I have to reinstall genesis that came with DS4.6 and buy freak 5.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure the almost $30 for freak 5 was really necessary and not just a morph add-on.

Is it safe to assume I can dial modify the face if I want to customize it a bit, just like any other face? Again, never fussed with genesis much.

Yes, you can mix-and-match, with some caveats: some morphs are 'locked-in' (such as the 0.5 setting for Freak) which means you have to break the link/lock before changing, and as with most 'extreme' figures/morphs you can sometimes get eye-wateringly (or bed-wettingly) amusing results ;)

Just wanted to drop a note that...yep..the above info is all correct ;)

It can be used without freak, but it wont look as good.
You can modify features independently, to a certain extent.

Thanks, guys. I went ahead and bought both the werewolf and freak 5. With the current sale prices on both, it was cheaper than the standalone Mestophales Manitou at rendo, and the hair looks better, imo.

    Wish me luck ... lol.

(if you can show the final shot..would love to see it)
