must install various programs again - optimal order?
Yes, it is that time again. My desktop computer is exhibiting the pre-crash flakes, and I have ordered a replacement. Not a horror story so far. I have already saved most of my personal stuff to an external drive. In the words of Monty Python, my old computer is not dead yet. But, it is mortally wounded.
However, I will have to install Carrara, Daz Studio, Hexagon, Bryce, Poser, and Photoshop Elements to a new computer when it arrives in a few days. I used the DIM for content, so have to reinstall my purchased Daz stuff, which is not on the external drive.
Is there an optimal order for the programs? Does Daz Studio have to be running to install genesis for C8.5? I know some programs want to know where others are -for example, if Studio genesis DSON files are to be used in Poser.
It has been a while since I've had to replace the entire system (I've had some unload/reload issues, but not due to total computer death). Any tips, cautions, or best practices would be appreciated.
in the meantime, I still have my laptop, which has C8.1 on it.
