Summer of "Freebies"? Seriously?

Have to say this was the funniest thing I have ever seen.
On a high end CG forum they advertised a Summer of Freebies from Daz. (A paid advertisement obviously)
Everyone thought hey free is good.
But when you click through the link to Daz, its far from free.
9.99$ is not free. 16$ is not free.
1$ isn't even free.
so how can you honestly call it a summer of Freebies?
Now if you intend to make all those products free on a specific date, then you change the title.
If you are selling them cheap, you change the title.
Summer of inexpensive items.
Summer of half off.
Last day of July of Freebies.
First week of August Freebies.
But Summer of Freebies? False advertisement.

Because each of the freebies has been free on at least one day. You need to visit regularly to catch the freebies.
If you signed up for the newsletter, Artemis, you would have got them all. Provided you check your inbox regularly. An even better idea is subscribing to the Limited Time Freebie Alert Thread at the Freepository. I got them all for free, so the offer was correct.
Aremis2003's concerns do have some merit.
I was going to bring this to DAZ's attention earlier this week, but I have been much to busy to attend to it.
Below you will see two screenshots I just took a little while ago; First, is an ad by DAZ3D that I have been seeing for the past week at various sites (Come get a Daily Freebie everyday). Second, is of the original Freebies page that DAZ put up when they were actually giving away a freebie a day. I bookmarked it, and have been using it as an entry point to the forums everyday. Hasn't changed since the day they offered the last daily freebie weeks ago.
Now, I am a subscriber to the newsletters, check all aspects of the store with the "price" selection modifier, and check the Freepository thread everyday (which hasn't had a new freebie by DAZ since July 24, 2014).
There might be an error with their current advertising distribution right now, and Aremis was trying to bring it to DAZ's attention (as now am I).
Something might need to be rectified, or at least amended to some kind of corrections.
The Limited time freebie thread is made by forum members, not by DAZ 3D. So it will only get notes of the freebies when a member decides to post them
Wait. What freebies? I haven't heard about any of these, seen any banners, or gotten any newsletters mentioning it.
The freebies are usually included as part of the regular DAZ emails, not separate emails, so be sure you're subscribed to the DAZ newsletters in your account dashboard.

I just checked and I have "You are currently subscribed to 'General Subscription'." No other options.
I just checked my emails and did a DAZ search.
7/30 - There's a Fairy in My Cup
7/29 - New Advanced Weaponry
7/28 - Happy Yummy Good Times
7/26 - Top Secret Weekend Sale
7/25 - Get $10 Off Your Next Purchase
7/25 - Get $10 Off Your Next Purchase (yes, got this one twice for some reason)
7/24 - Are You Prepared For Battle?
7/23 - Prepare Her For Battle
7/22 - Introducing Our Newest Character
7/21 - Walker HD Brings Fire & Ice (Big Time Tools Free)
So 7/21 is the only instance where a free item was mentioned. And no mention that this was an on-going, every day thing either.
I visit the site multiple times every day and had no idea anything was going on.

The daily freebie dates back to May.
The ad is severly outdated, but this is something I've noticed with other ads, from DAZ and other shops, too.
This has been flagged up for DAZ and I think should be addressed.
Legionair: there have been a series of freebies that were made available again for just a day each recently, they were geenrally in the newsletters but they weren't new items, except for a one day general availability of the weekly freebie for PC Members in at least some cases.
Hey where are the newsletters around here?
I'm catching stuff because for the past few days I've had this site up most of the day in a side window (@work&home;...)
But I've noticed things showing up, and no emails told me of them. I think I need to find out where I go to ask to get spam again. :)
EDIT: Pesky gmail... the stuff's been getting tossed into my spam folder. /sigh.
What I listed above was every DAZ email I have received, except for forum reply notifications, for the past week and a half.
Like I said, only one mentioned a free item. Which I assumed was the weekly PC free item, as the email was on a Monday.
I have heard the odd rumbling of a free item here and there, but I had no idea this was an ongoing thing. And I am holding back on saying that this was another "targeted email" that I have been excluded from.
Legionaire, the daily freebie was an activity which ran in May. You will not find it in July newsletters...
IF I remember correctly the Summer of Freebies thing was not on an email, but was on the rolling banner or the store top banner
Okay, now I am just more confused.
One person says it was in an email, another says it wasn't. Someone else says it was only May, others say it wasn't. That alone should be a big red-assed baboon of a red flag for someone in marketing.
I never saw a rotating banner announcing this sale. And I usually scroll through the banners at least once a day to see what is going on.
See the attached screenshot that I just grabbed, today, from another website. So it is still an on going promotion.
The banner links to: http://www.daz3d.com/daily-freebie?utm_source=adroll&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=webfreebie
I never saw the attached banner before because I use Firefox to browse the DAZ site only. A throw back to when I had to download a zillion files only through hot links and IE didn't have a reasonable way of doing this.
They were in the mail. I just have back mail until June 10, but I've attached you that one. I can extra days if required.
This looks to me like an outside company that runs banner ads has gotten itself out of sync with the timelines of the program it was paid to run.
In my last job, as 'webmaster' I sat between IT and Marketing, but under the Marketing manager. I wrote all of their email-blast templates, and for my first year there even made all of the marketing images for those emails and the website and the banners we had other companies run for us (I also ran the company's analytics - all these hybrid dual roles coming together because they'd had issues in the past when Marketing got held up by IT's schedule, and vice-versa).
A couple of times I saw and was involved in tracking it down when somebody who was running an ad for us ran either the wrong ad, ran it too early, or ran it too late...
Even once seeing one place run not the banner ad we gave them, but an image they obviously pulled off of google images... (yeah... like really...). I only knew it for that because it was one my predecessor had made and never put out - but he not being also a web guy, had put it on our server in a directory that was not private, and google webcrawled it into their database...
Not to excuse anything here... but I suspect the explanation is something occurring that was not what Daz had thought it had paid to have occur...
Looks like that 6/10 one was the only one I received. And there is nothing in that email to state that it was an ongoing sale.
I don't have the first mail, but there was a fixed, labelled link at the right side of the ads (which has Xia Mei now) on the website, which disappeared in between for a few days. I remember because I am translating the ads, and that was a quick way to go to the freebies for link-copying.
Also, in case you go to the forum on a regular base, too, there was a lengthy explanation about the sale, including the freebies and their daily appearance.

There's still the fact that the ad is shown despite that particular activity being over for quite a while. It's something that should be fixed, no doubt.
