Beautiful item is on sale.

It states it "MUST HAVE PSD EDITING SOFTWARE"

Will it also work in GIMP ?

Thanks.

GIMP can open PSD but not all the features of the PSD may load or be available to you. It depends upon the version of PS it was created in. GIMP can handle PSD's created in older versions of PS. Since the product page lists this in bold print, it's likely that the PSD was done in a newer version of PS.

Does anyone know if the brushes also work in Photoshop Elements?
(They normally did, but I just wanted to know.)

As l know - PSBrushes will work in Elements.
They also work with GIMP (didn't encounter a PSBrush that won't work with GIMP) - even with layers.

But you should give it a try... since DAZ offers a 30 day money back guarantee with every purchase made on this site.

I have Ron's Apocalypse brush set and I use GIMP for most of my post work so can confirm that they do work, I'm currently running GIMP 2.8.4 (the latest is 2.8.10, so I'll probably update soon) and everything is fine as shown in the image below in which I uses some of the apocalypse brushes for the post work. Not sure but the background sky could be one of the background images that come with that set as well.

I also regularly use many other sets of Rons brushes in GIMP 2.8 and have yet to find any that don't work though I do not have all of them by a long way.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Pretty impressive.

What is PSE, with the emphasis on the E ?

    Thanks.

Thank You all the artist's that answered this question, But I created the Apocalypse in Ps5, knowing this info that they do work in GIMP, since I don't have or use that program the feedback on this issue really helps.
