Just starting on this story for the Space Crimes universe.  Please keep in mind that I try to create each image as a stand-alone image for those who don't know the back story.  Sometimes I re-explain things or they can seem a little disjointed.  Since this is a work in progress I will upload new images and story as they become available or even edit existing ones.  Without further ado I introduce to you:

Queen Neptune's Royal Carcanet

Madeline... oh Madeline.. you look.. STUNNING! But when don't you?

I see you have the bait so beautifully and prominently worn across your neck. Did you make sure that everyone was watching you and the Queen Neptune's Royal Carcanet as you entered the party?

Madeline with a great big smile and in the voice of royalty replied "of course my darling".

Great work babe.

With all of the pieces of the trap in place we can now can sit back and watch as the events of the evening unfold.

I don't remember seeing Madeline smile or joke around more than this case. She reminds me of.. what's her name.. Audrey something from the movies. Usually more reserved and straight laced, maybe it' s her style that had always attracted me to her?

Either way there's still so much danger in this mission and we need to be careful. Especially knowing that she is wearing Queen Neptune's Royal Carcanet, which makes her a moving target. I would never get past it if something else happened to her. I can't lose her again.

* The orchestra begins to play from the main ball room *

"Madeline my darling would you join me for a dance?" I said as I took her by the hand and motioned to the other room. She knew we needed to draw as much attention to the jewels as possible. Or maybe just because she was in a playful mood she responded in an animated, and cute manner, quoting something someone once said "Paris is always a good idea!".

"Hepburn" I quietly said to me self... "Audrey Hepburn".

It was as if time had frozen and all of the activity of the room, the people dancing, the waiters, the conversations at various tables... it all had just disappeared.  It was just Madeline and I looking into one another's eyes slowly swaying side to side.

Maybe it was the alcohol that made me brave as I pulled her in even closer and boldly said "Madeline, I can't imagine my life... What I'm trying to say is I can't remember a time.."  With the light magically hitting her eyes and face just right she broke my stumbling by saying "It's about time" with a smile on her face.  She then followed it up with "I love you too John" in the softest and most sincere voice that would melt the heart of any man.

Reaching up to my cheek she pulled me in as we kissed.  It was familiar, but it meant so much more this time.  Things have been rough lately but this, this seems to have fixed whatever was broken.

Maybe we just needed to stop tripping over our own thoughts.  Maybe we have bad timing.  Whatever it is, this is the first time I openly told her I love her.  Wait did I actually say it yet?  That's right she stopped me and beat me to it.

That damn beautiful dame of mine...

FINALLY completed my 3rd scene for this short series.  Was trying to focus on the shadows's and just the romance of the dance here.  GPU memory limitations made this difficult and I had to run Scene Optimizer twice to get it to fit within my GPU memory.
