Partial Pose Application Question

Let's say I've gotten my figure's upper body into a perfect pose and then I find a pose that would be perfect for the lower body (but it's a whole body pose). Is there a way for me to lock the upper body and apply the whole body pose so only the legs are affected?
I'm pretty sure this is possible, I've just never done it.

In Poser or DazStudio?
If DAZ Studio I'd suggest saving the top half of the pose as a pose preset that you can apply any time you want.
Use this:

There is no native way in Studio to lock part of the figure so that the second pose doesn't affect it? If there isn't then there should be. Thanks, I'll just apply the pose for the lower body manually. I'm not going to buy an exporter just for one partial pose.
Yes, you can lock parts of a figure - select them, then go to Edit>Figure>Lock>Lock selected node(s)

It's 100% free, and it takes less time to save a pose with that script than it takes to lock the joint nodes.
I am advised to tell you
If its a native pose (or native preset in general), you can hold the Ctrl
modifier key (Cmd on OSX) and apply the preset. This will trigger
"Control-Freak"
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/terms/control-freak/start.
For a Pose Preset, this provides a dialog with options similar to the
Symmetry dialog... So, you can select a node, or several nodes, and apply
the pose to only the selected nodes, or only the selected nodes and their
respective children, or the entire figure.
In poser if you have advanced library manager by semidieu at rdna, you just right click on the thumbnail of the pose and it offers you top part, or bottom part, or right arm with hand or without hand etc. I use this feature all the time.

Not sure back in 2014, but this is the way to do it now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cisaeU990Lk
