Artists of G3 products please update them to G8 & 2 other suggestions

There are some great g3 items ranging from shoes to hair. Can people upgrade them to g8? Pretty please?

Also can we get some clothes for bbw models that conform to the body? Usually bellies and whatnot poke out of the cloth or during posing all hell breaks loose. Plus some poses for bbw models would be nice.

Most G3 items will work fine on G8, either with autofit or changing the scene identifier to the target figure ot G8 (see image). There are also converters for this from Riversoftart in the store

As for pokethru with fat/big models, that can usually be fixed with adding a smoothing modifier with collision set to the figure. Also dforce items should work fine if you change the morph during a tineline animation

Thank you Mike, bookamrked for future reference.

Do these programs work on shoes as well? I tried lots of trick with shoes (even changing scene identifier) but most of the time the shoes doe not fit at all.

  • Shoes seem to be the things with the least chance of success. So far, with boots I've got it to work by hiding the feet and posing until it looks right. Sandles/ heels and it's a no-no.

    Regards

    Richard

  • Shoes are more difficult, and don't work so well with the scene identifier trick, because G3 had an extra heel bone that was removed in G8.

There's a more detailed description of doing the conversion via scene identifier, including swapping between T and A poses, here: https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065

Luckily, at least in my case, with primarily contemporary stuff, shoes are fairly easy to find substitutes for in the appropriate generation.  For armour sets, etc, I guess it's not so easy.
