Does anyone know of a Photoshop Brush viewer that actually works?

I tried several versions of the abrViewer and NONE of them work properly for me. I install them and can view one brush set at a time but am unable to do much else with it before it shuts down or 'errors' out. I couldn't find any on-line assistance for getting it to work properly and was wondering if anyone knows of a brush viewer out there I could use....

Be sure you have this or its equivalent for your OS:

ABRviewer requires Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0.

I tend to install such utilities "outside" of the official program folders 'cause W7 likes to play guard.

Basically all I've used it for is to simply open the file, export out all the .png files ... then in my program of choice open the desired .png file and make a brush.

I used to use abrViewer on my old WinXP laptop, but switched to abrMate when I got this Win7 Pro laptop.

You can check it out here  --> http://www.texturemate.com/abrMate

Please allow me a dumb question:
What is a Brush Viewer good for? I have tons of Photoshop brushes (mostly Rons) and I simply load them in Photoshop and I can see and use them all.

I found one for Mac (I use Mavericks) I really love. It's called Brush Pilot.

There is a demo to try out.

In answer as to why: The previews in PS are very small and often squished if you, in particular, use large brushes (like many of Ron's). So I end up loading and loading and testing to see if it's the one I want. Where the brush Preview shows you a nice sized capture of the brush dab.

not a dumb question at all...
I literally have hundreds of brush sets (both installed into my Photoshop preset folder and not installed there) making up thousands and thousands of brushes. There is no way for me to remember all of the brushes I have collected over the years and when they are not 'installed' I have no way of knowing what they are so I need a way to view them easily outside of Photoshop....and as mentioned by Cris the thumbnails are far to small to see in Photoshop.

I ended up investing less than $10 on a viewer that works directly through Windows and I can view brushes, styles, patterns and shapes within a standard explorer window without even having to start any other program...it is just like viewing a thumbnail or a preview in windows. It is called 'Preset Viewer Argus' and so far I am digging it and glad I spent the 10 bucks for it. The coolest thing is it is run in windows and it views more than just brushes.

If anyone is interested in Argus you can find it at www.tumasoft.com.

    thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Sloth, the Argus of which you speak is indeed cool. I don't have Windows on my Mac, and their Mac version just wasn't working very efficiently which is why I went to the one I did.

And if one doesn't have Photoshop ... and one has an older version of PSP [I think the newer editions once again with use them], then one has to convert the brushes. So one needs the viewer to see and convert the desired brushes to .png files. With the .png files one can make brushes in PSP.
