Preferably not one with too many strings attached. The last few have been buy new stuff+get gift card. I often do not have a need for the particular qualifying new release.

I was about to ask the same thing.
Gift cards are good things to have on hand when the sale madness hits anyway, because:
a. When your credit card statement comes, you have one large transaction rather than pages and pages of them.
("The neighbor called. The letter carrier left your credit card bill at his house because it was too fat to fit in the mailbox.")
b. If you're disciplined, you can use them to help impose a spending limit on yourself
("As soon as this $5000 gift card is used up, I'm out. No more toys for me. Well ... maybe just one or two ...")
c. Checkout is faster.
("No time to type CVC code. Must download new shinies NOW.")
But it's that much sweeter if you know that you're paying some tiny percentage less than the marked price each time.
("4% off? It's like they're practically giving the stuff away!")
We-elllll ... that worked. Kind of ... you have to buy one new item to get 8% off ... but it doesn't work! SNIFF
And tomorrow, when I will be able to log in, it will be gone ... sniff
Luckily for me there is an item I want to buy today or I wouldn't be getting the deal, but when I click on the gift card it comes up with someone elses name and email address - sorry Wolfgang ;-) Do we really want the store to go screwy just before a big sale... Oh and it looks like they are doing the punch thing again during the PA sale, which will just make me ask 'do I really need this' before buying anything. I am not buying stuff I don't want and can't use to get punches for a prize that doesn't live up to the hype.

Have the new items in the cart with GC and it still does not show a discount even on the last screen before committing to purchase.
Needless to say No purchase.
Same here - I was planning to do it this afternoon, but gave it a go just now - no discount, no sale.
Here dito: two new item + Gift Card in the cart but no discount on the gift card ist shown.... :(
And one more it doesn't work for - I'll leave it until later until someone from 'the office' can pop in and fix things.
We've reported its not-workingness, with luck someone will be able to fix it later though we can't promise.

Speaking, of "working", i13 Working is on the New Release list, and it plus a $100 GC costs $99.67 at the moment. Add in more GCs and you start seeing the love...

It's just a heads' up. Gift cards go on sale only rarely, especially for any meaningful % off, such as 10% or more.
Edit: But it's not on sale right now; at least not for PC members. I just tried. Maybe for PC+?

I ran out of credit. Checked to see if there was currently any discounts on Daz gift cards. As you can see in the above screen shot, Daz is offering a savings of . . . not much.

Hopefully they will run another gift card sale midmonth. It seems they have done so in prior monthly sales if I recall correctly
They have done so in the past, yes.
Lately, however, they have started to tie gift card reductions to specific purchases: "Spend more than $30 and get 4% off", "Buy Fetish Thong Panties for the Unflateable Pony and get 8% off", etc etc.
I picture the conversation at DAZ HQ as going something like this:
"So ... mid-month ... they're starting to get desperate. Shall I reel 'em in?"
"No, no, wait a little longer. There are still almost 5% of them who haven't used up all their credit yet."
"So what's the discount this time?"
"Let's make it a generous 6% on $200 ..."
"But ..."
"But?"
"There's gotta be a 'but'."
"But they have to buy ..."
"... not less than $150 worth of Hexagon tutorials!"
"... everything Stonemason has ever released ... again!"
"... four magical Cutie Pie flower fairy-themed items AND a giant killer robot!"
"... every punchable item for the next nine days!"
"... a Cocktail Mini-dress for the DAZ Dragon 3!"
