In case anybody else for some reason is getting nausea looking at that scrolling background on the Sales and Promotions page, if you have adblock installed in your browser, you can make it go away.

Go into adblock's options and add your own filter. Use http://www.daz3d.com/media/shop/pa-sale/bg.jpg as the filter url. Boom no more scrolling background.

god, THANK YOU! I just came into the forum seeing if anyone else was getting a vertigo effect from that, or if it was just me. GAH!!

The funny thing is, I just came from reading stories on the clientsfromhell site......and was hit by that.

edit: and it works, THANK YOU!!!!!

    NP! :)

I don't normally get things like motion sickness or vertigo, but for some reason that banner was inducing them. Scrolling banners I can do, but scrolling the entire background is overkill.

I don't either, nor do I ever have problems with scrolling banners or anything like that. Even when the Big Site Change happend and ppl were complaining the colours gave them headaches, it never affected me. But boy o boy, that shifting background was really affecting me. First time. LOL.

Although someone else said it may have changed, as they don't see it now?

It's still there for me if I remove the filter from adblock. I think I'll just leave the filter enabled to be on the safe side. My luck I'll remove it and it'll get changed to some bright strobe effect. lol

yep, i just unblocked it and it's there. Maybe my friend is using a different browser - I'm using Chrome. Strange. She's not seeing it move at all. But yeah, it's there, it's still vertigo inducing and I still can't understand WHY the hell it was put there.

Like you, I also use Chrome. They could be using Firefox. It's a static background in FF, and the page is just completely out of whack in IE8.

Poor design choice, imo. The page actually looks better without the background at all. lol

Thanks for finding the URL of the offending background. Finding it myself with crossed eyes was proving difficult. Now hopefully after my stomach settles down I can:

    A) Eat dinner
B)See if I actually want to buy anything.

Just what the topic says. I'm looking for a way to stop the background picture moving on the sales & promotions page because it makes me incredibly motion sick to look at, and I'm going cross-eyed trying to see the new stuff every day.

Ah, cool. Not sure why this didn't show up when I was searching the forums... granted I was a little cross-eyed at the time. Unfortunately, I don't have that little add-on, but interestingly, when I went to the page today, it wasn't moving (in Chrome). Maybe they stopped it if you do a hard refresh of the page?
