Moving Daz content to Poser?

I was wondering if it was possible to set up a V4/A4 model's morphs, hair, and clothing in Daz then send it to Poser to be tweaked and rendered? When I tried, the model was treated as an Object instead of a figure and I couldn't edit anything.

I have to ask... If you're using the Gen4 figures, why don't you set them up directly in Poser?

Yes they are Gen4! I was asking because I can do it alot faster in Daz then Poser because of their interfaces.

Please don't misunderstand. I was just curious since it would seem to me to be faster to set them up in Poser if you're going to render in Poser, but I completely understand about the interface issues. I feel the same way about DS (I'm primarily a Poser user). :)

I don't know of a way to do what you're asking, but someone else might know of one. :)

Although you might be able to help me with something else, none of my morphs are showing up on my V4 model! D:
But they show up on A4 :s

Try re-initializing V4. If you recently installed morphs to V4 that use the Morphs++ pack, you need to re-initialize it. You can find it in the !DAZ file inside the library file.

    How do I re-initialize it?

You need to find the DzCreateExPFiles-v4.bat file and rerun it

    Mine is in C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ.

The easiest way to find it, is to do a search on your My DAZ 3D Library folder for dzcCeateEXP

    How did you install V4?

If you used DIM, then you could uninstall it and then reinstall it again. This file needs to be run to fix any problems with morphs.

I did it through the install manager, they work fine in Daz Studio. Although I can't load V4 or A4 through smart content, I have to load them by finding them directly under Daz People.

I have just checked in DIM, and the BAT file you are looking for is installed with the V4 base. It also has Metadata, and should appear in Smart Content as well.

Go to the installed tab in DIM, look for 'Victoria 4.2 Base', right click on it, and select 'Show Installed Files.'

The list that pops up are clickable links to the files, and near the top you should find :

    /Runtime/libraries/!DAZ/DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat
    /Runtime/libraries/!DAZ/DzCreateExPFiles.exe

You will also notice that V4.2 also has a check mark beside it in the Intalled tab, that means that it should show in Smart Content.

I uninstalled then reinstalled and it still says that V4 support folder isn't found.

If you installed again using DIM, did you find the /DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat and run it ?

If not, please follow my previous post on finding the file in DIM, and clicking to go to the folder and run the bat file.

DIM automatically initializes the figure after install (or it does on my system). It can't hurt to reinitialize a figure manually, though, unless you're on a Mac (in which case some of the old initializer scripts don't run correctly if you run them manually...).

Out of curiosity, do you happen to have more than one runtime with another copy of the V4 files in it? Multiple runtimes with the same figures (duplicate files) in them can cause Poser to do what you're describing. :)

If you're having trouble with V4 in DS, though, I don't know if it behaves the same way...

If it works in DS but not in Poser then the problem isn't the initialization. How exactly are you loading V4 in Poser -- via the Library pane? What's the exact file name and where does it show up in the Poser library?

ETA: And do you have more than one Runtime listed in Poser? If so, do more than one have a "Runtime:Libraries:!DAZ:Victoria 4" folder?
