I am working on something to address this. It is not a smoothing product, but something else. More info when it's close to completion. Will be for pants, dresses as well.
...will it be more along the lines of the old "spandex" morph that the Gen3 figures had?
Never used m3, but it should have enough options. For all i know i already made it lol. Post a pic of the spandex morph and i will double check.
Overall the support for Genesis from vendors beyond the DAZ store had been rather disappointing and I very much appreciate that I am actually able to shop at multiple shops for my G2F and G2M figures and related shapes on a frequent basis. Yesterday I spotted another vendor on Rendo and one I did not really expect, but I am very, very happy with that (you can't have enough shoes/boots! ;) ). RuntimeDNA has got less, but there are some great gems there, too.
Anyway, from the customer perspective so far I am more than pleased with how G2F / G2M turned out with regards to support of vendors/PAs and both have become my "go to" figures for humans or humanoid shapes.
Oh dear... and I really like buying shoes........................
I have only joined recently so obviously G2F is my favorite figure : ) I do not use males that much (actually I don´t use them at all but I do plan to play with them as well in the future).
Since I wasn´t around when Genesis 1 was the latest and the greatest figure it is just sitting in my library and I hardly ever use it. Last time I used Genesis 1 was when I needed a quick child shape. I don´t have any morphs or clothing for Gen1 except for freebies and I don´t plan to get any now that G2 is out.
I also bought V4 Starter Pack this summer which I did not really look into yet. I have noticed she is a very popular figure but is mostly used by Poser users who don´t want to switch to G2F so she was also sitting in my library until a few days ago when I decided to buy Poser 10 and I hope to learn how to rig clothes in Poser and maybe I will create something for her.
G2F is definitely my favorite figure, I bought 4 characters for her and I just love the different looks and shapes one can achieve with G2F.
And I really like creating clothes for her : )
Rigging for V4 is a royal pain in the butt.. not saying don't try, but don't beat yourself up if you give up after half a day of fighting with it. And you can rig for V4 in DS, you just have to use the figure setup tools instead of the weight mapping.. it has more visual displays than trying to do the old fashioned rigging in Poser and you don't need any extra utilities. Since you already know how to rig for G2 in DS try your V4 stuff in DS first before you throw your hands up in utter frustration.
And are there any improvements to the UV maps for figures like Lilith instead of the ‘Base Female’ of G2F? Likewise with regards Lee or Michael as opposed to ‘Base Male’ of G2M? What’s the rationale for these custom UVs even existing?
Extreme morphs need their own UVs unless you like the notorious gianormous pores you see on H-cupped breasts on V4 and Genesis 1. Giselle would have the opposite problem.
FWArt always lists it.. I guess you didn’t like any of his characters for some reason?
As far as morphs they're all way too skinny. I like chicks with athletic or even She-Freak builds. I usually get his products exclusively for the Zbrush-generated face morphs.
One is that I experience more autofit errors than with Genesis “classic”.
Yes, I absolutely hate this as well, and find it very disappointing. I think a jumpsuit mesh like what Sickleyield sells for Genesis 1 at Rendo would probably help a great deal. Preferrably by Sickleyield :)
did you ever try to stick out the tongue of gen2fem ?
terrible tongue really !
Lol Agreed. I tried making some tongue morphs but the bones get all messed up for what I wanted to do...Will look into it again since I have learned a few things.
...+1
Several of my main characters are teens and kids for whom sticking out the tongue is a common expression of disapproval.
