I had invested in genesis and the morphs and a few other things to make it serviceable But after working on it almost all day it just doesn't work. Where does one find the dial to dialup V4 ? People have told me that V4 hair will work on genesis but when I conform it the hair clings to the neck. ? any ideas?

Many of the hair figures had "handles" or morphs ... so what can be done is to have nothing selected. Load the hair. Resize it and position it, then parent it to Genesis' head. I'm not the expert on this.
To be able to dial in the V4 shape, one needs this product: http://www.daz3d.com/v4-and-m4-shapes-for-genesis
Yeah, I get that a lot as well. What people tell me is to just add collision detection to the parented hair and scale it until it neatly fits Genesis' head.
well what ive found out is that for poser you cant use V/M4 things for Genesis or G2. No matter what the product descrips may allude to. What I 'thought' had meant that I can dialup V/M4 to work with genesis didn't mean I can loadup those morphs, just that you can add the basic V/M4 bodyshape, which tbh doesn't make sense when it isn't anything special. If you could use something like that to use your older V/M4 body and face morphs that would be awesome, esp if you could also use the clothes and hair. As it is I`m not willing to rebuy content. Im a poser user so ill walk away from the progression. If DS ever makes a vastly better interface and content menu id be interested but as is imho I`m not going to use it. Anyway, thx folks, I wasted a day with this but wont make that mistake again.
I prefer the Daz interface to the Poser interface, but that's just a general preference.
A lot of the V4 fittings are done in Daz Studio via the autofit system which dynamically alters the outfit to fit the new figure. This is why people mention compatibility between the two. Hair is easily parented to the head, and older hairs were prop-based anyway and essentially did exactly the same thing, though it may need resizing on Genesis.
Now thanks to Generation X2, you CAN actually use old V4 morphs on Genesis and Genesis 2 as well. But again, this is via Daz Studio and not available in Poser directly. I'll be the first to admit that Poser users get a bit of a raw deal, but it's largely due to Smith Micro ignoring the impact Daz figures have and not adding native support. Everything needs to be done via the DSON importer which converts the Daz figures into the Poser format. Some things are lost in translation though, like material settings, which is what the Poser companion files are for.
The V4 and M4 shapes for Genesis are just that. Shapes. The base mesh still has the DAZ triax rigging. Poser 9 and up has weight mapped rigging but it is not the same as DAZ Triax.
Odd question but when you use the items in Poser are you going through the DSON importer?
